Responding to the "Godmother" program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in 2021, Ms. Hien and other members of the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Dai An commune have sponsored five orphaned children under the program, providing 300,000 to 500,000 VND per child per month.

Actively campaigning and mobilizing social support, we encouraged officials and employees to sponsor 14 children with amounts ranging from 300,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND per child per month.

In particular, the Women's Union of the commune also assigns officials and members to mentor and support children in the community, especially orphans. "We always treat them like family, offering timely encouragement and guidance, and providing a support system for them to strive for a better future," Ms. Hien shared.

Nguyen Hoang Khanh Ngoc (born in 2012) is an orphaned student who lives with her elderly, frequently ill father. Thanks to the support of the Women's Union of Dai An commune, she receives 300,000 VND per month.

Or consider the case of Ho Thi Minh Anh (born in 2009), a high school student whose mother works as a laborer and who currently lives with her grandmother who has cancer. Each month, through the "Godmother" program, Minh Anh receives support ranging from 500 million VND to 1 million VND...

Ms. Van Thi Hien and the Women's Union of Dai An commune also regularly connect and implement many meaningful activities such as donating hundreds of gifts to orphaned children in difficult circumstances, donating textbooks, notebooks, school supplies, and bicycles to students.

"This is a humanitarian activity, so I, along with other female officials and members, are making every effort in disseminating information, mobilizing support, and spreading compassion to the community," Ms. Hien confided.

Launched over a year ago, the "Dai An Women's Volunteer Club: Warmth and Love for Children," with 12 members and chaired by Ms. Hien, has already carried out several practical activities. Additionally, at the beginning of this year, the Dai An Women's Union launched the "Warm Blood - Understanding & Compassion in Dai An" Club with 11 members, also chaired by Ms. Van Thi Hien.

Following its launch, the club called on volunteers to donate 5 units of blood to patients in the emergency room at the Northern Quang Nam Regional General Hospital. Ms. Hien also actively mobilized female cadres and members to implement the "Green House" model. This is a point where waste is exchanged for green plants and funds are raised to sponsor and support disabled and disadvantaged women and children.

With these outstanding achievements, Ms. Hien has been commended and rewarded by women's associations at all levels; the Women's Union of Dai An commune has also received many emulation titles awarded by the People's Committee of Dai An commune, and women's associations at the district and provincial levels. Recently, in September 2024, Ms. Van Thi Hien was also honored at the "Godmother" honoring forum organized by the Quang Nam Provincial Women's Union.
