On the evening of June 5th, in front of the Vietnamese Cultural Space on Le Thai To Street by Hoan Kiem Lake, artists from the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre performed free songs praising the beautiful homeland of Vietnam and songs reminding people to protect nature and the Earth – the common home of all living things.
This is an art program themed " Vietnam Forever Green Through Four Seasons," organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in response to World Environment Day on June 5th.
Thanh Lam, Viet Hoan, and Thai Thuy Linh sing about the environment.
Singers Thanh Lam, Viet Hoan, Thai Thuy Linh, along with dozens of artists from the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre and children, joined voices in an inspiring performance amidst the beautiful streets and nature surrounding Hoan Kiem Lake, singing beautiful songs with profound humanistic meanings.

The audience heard both familiar and less familiar songs, songs with clear environmental awareness messages, and songs that subtly and discreetly encouraged a green and mindful lifestyle…
Songs like "Proud Vietnam Always Green " ( Tran Thanh Dung), "Earth Song" (Michael Jackson), "Song of Shrimp and Fish" (DTAP Group), "Awakening Spring" and "Flying into the Green Day " (Duong Thu), "Our Love, Silver Sea and Green Fields" (Hoang Song Huong), " My House is on the Hillside " (Duc Trinh), and "Aspiration" (Pham Minh Tuan).

In particular, the song "Like a Blue Marble," a song with a bright, cheerful, and innocent melody by composer Trinh Cong Son, performed with the strong yet emotional voice of Thai Thuy Linh, moved many people with its profound meanings hidden in the simple lyrics and notes, like a children's song.
Listening to those lyrics, the audience was moved to realize a profound truth: While we might think each person has their own life and destiny, in reality, in this world , we all share the same joys and sorrows.
Just as humanity has chosen Earth as its common homeland, whether it is clean and beautiful or sick and polluted, humans and all living things share the same fate… Therefore, everyone must “remember to carry their homeland” in their hearts and love and protect the Earth.
Thai Thuy Linh shared that musician Trinh Cong Son imagined himself "standing" in the vast universe and looking down at Earth, seeing it as a magical blue marble in the world of childhood that everyone wants to cherish.

Art that is linked to social responsibility will last longer.
People's Artist Tran Binh - the scriptwriter and director of the art program - shared that he always believed that art should not only serve beauty, but also speak out against the burning issues of the times, with environmental protection being one of the most urgent issues today.
The theme "Vietnam Forever Green in All Seasons" is not just a call to action, but an inspiring message to help each person envision a beautiful and prosperous country, and understand that preserving that greenery means preserving life for themselves and for future generations.
"I believe that when art is linked to social responsibility, it will last longer and be more meaningful," Mr. Binh said.
Singer Viet Hoan, who has long chosen a green lifestyle by setting up a farm and planting trees in the suburbs of Hanoi, said that for him, protecting the environment doesn't need to start with something grand, but with small, daily actions.
This could include reducing the use of plastic bags, minimizing plastic waste during performances, planting more trees, or simply keeping your living environment clean.
In his opening remarks at the art performance, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tan emphasized the viewpoint of the Party and State of Vietnam throughout the years that economic development must go hand in hand with environmental protection.
This year's World Environment Day theme, "Fight Plastic Pollution," is an urgent call to action for all of us: let's act together to reduce plastic waste, use resources more intelligently, and live greener for a sustainable future.
"Plastic waste is not a far-fetched problem; it's right here in our meals, rivers, beaches, historical sites, and tourist areas," said Mr. Phan Tan.
