According to reports, during the two nights of the festival, from early on, a large number of locals and domestic and international tourists filled the stands arranged by the organizers to watch the performances. In the chilly weather of the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the lively drumming of the festival celebrating the new year, interspersed with the beautiful and captivating performances of lion and dragon dances on poles and iron pillars, made the audience even more delighted. The program opened with the "Drumming for Spring Celebration" performance, creating a lively atmosphere. This was followed by performances of four lion dances (Four Auspicious Lions), lion climbing the Plum Blossom Valley (Lion climbing the mountain to gather blessings for spring), traditional dragon dance (Heavenly Dragon Descending to Earth), lion dance (Two Lions Playing with a Ball)... by the lion and dragon dance troupes, conveying wishes for peace and happiness to everyone in every home during the upcoming Lunar New Year. Returning to Vietnam to celebrate Tet with her family after 5 years away from home, Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Xuan, who lives and works in the Czech Republic, shared: "It's been a long time since I came back to celebrate Tet in my homeland and got to see such a wonderful lion and dragon dance performance."
According to martial arts master Doan Duc Phuoc, Chairman of the Provincial Lion and Dragon Dance Federation, this year's festival program was meticulously prepared. Before the performances on stage, the federation organized a competition among lion and dragon dance clubs to select the best and most unique dances. Furthermore, to change the festive atmosphere, the organizing committee added traditional martial arts performances and invited singers to perform, helping locals and tourists, both domestic and international, to better appreciate and understand the beauty of traditional Tet culture.
