Neymar cried as he remained haunted by injuries sustained after returning to Brazil to play football.

At the Urbano Caldeira stadium, Neymar made his first start after recovering from injury. However, the former Barcelona star was forced to leave the field before the end of the first half. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said: "Neymar couldn't hide his tears as he left the field after only 34 minutes due to a new muscle problem."

In the 34th minute, Neymar felt pain and immediately signaled for a substitution. The image of him looking dazed, head bowed to the ground, saddened the fans. The extent of the injury is currently unknown, but it is clearly a major blow to hopes of Neymar reviving his form after a long period struggling with fitness issues.

The 1992-born star left the field when Santos were leading Atletico Mineiro 2-0. On April 14th, Neymar came on as a substitute but couldn't help Santos avoid a 0-1 defeat against Fluminense. The team is looking for their first win of the new season, after three consecutive draws and losses.

Neymar has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since March 2nd. The former Barcelona player missed the first three games of the season with Santos. He was also unable to participate in Brazil's 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Colombia and Argentina.

Joining Santos at the end of January, Neymar managed to play in 7 matches last season, totaling 508 minutes, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists. Initial statistics showed that Neymar maintained his form, but fitness issues once again threatened his resurgence.
