Watching the sunrise on Co To Island

As a travel blogger who has traveled the world, Quy Coc Tu couldn't help but feel proud and moved when he witnessed the sunrise on Co To archipelago – considered the country's frontier. With this sacred feeling, he captured beautiful images of nature, the daily life of the islanders, and the spirit of national defense displayed by the soldiers who guard this sea and sky day and night.

In his essay "Co To," writer Nguyen Tuan describes a morning on the island: "The sun gradually rises, then rises completely. Round and benevolent like the yolk of a perfectly formed natural egg. The rosy, deep, and majestic egg rests on a silver platter, the diameter of which is as wide as the pearly horizon of the rosy-tinged sea. It's like a platter of offerings presented from the dawn to celebrate the longevity of all the fishermen on the East Sea for all eternity." This passage is imbued with the magical colors of dawn and the natural beauty of this frontier island region of the Fatherland.
