Digital transformation bank

The goal of the digital banking transformation process is to put customers at the center, helping banks connect and meet customers' needs. To implement this content, banks in the province are offering many solutions to apply digital technology to exploit customer market share.

Recently, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) has focused its resources on launching the new generation of VCB Digibank (Digital Banking service), focusing on innovating the experience and enhancing personalization, with interface and experience versions suitable for different customer segments. The features of Digibank Vietcombank have been quickly welcomed and highly appreciated by customers. Vietcombank is also the first bank to exploit the electronic authentication service of the Ministry of Public Security, through which customers can update biometric information online simply through the app-to-app connection solution between the VCB Digibank application and the VNeID application (in addition to the solution of using chip-embedded citizen identification cards and NFC-connected phones as deployed).

Vietcombank Lao Cai currently serves about 70,000 customers (accounting for nearly 10% of the province's population), of which 60% of customers have experienced Vietcombank's digital banking services and have given positive feedback. The focus on investing in upgrading the Digital Banking platform has helped Vietcombank attract a large number of customers as well as give customers a good experience when using the service.

Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) is also applying online disbursement, the disbursement time is shortened to only about 3 - 5 minutes per transaction. 90% of individual customers and 60% of corporate customers use Vietinbank's online disbursement service. This is a step forward in the bank's digital transformation from 2025.

In recent times, Vietinbank has strongly developed non-cash payment services, diversified many payment channels, applied AI in operations, connected payments, provided payment solutions for hospitals and schools with high-tech solutions. Thereby, bringing the most convenient, modern and best products and services to customers, contributing to the implementation of the "Non-cash Payment Project" of the Government and the State Bank.

Currently, of the more than 2,800 corporate payment accounts and nearly 57,000 individual payment accounts that are transacting with Vietinbank Lao Cai, over 90% of businesses and organizations use Vietinbank Efast e-banking services and over 95% of individuals with payment accounts use Vietinbank iPay services. These two products are among the top impressive and superior products, contributing to enhancing the digital experience for customers.

Mr. Dang Viet Ninh, Deputy Director of Vietinbank Lao Cai Branch said: In the process of construction and development, Vietinbank has always pioneered in applying technology to operations, improving the quality of customer experience and combining with partners to build a comprehensive and flexible financial ecosystem suitable for new trends in the market.

The province currently has 19 branches of commercial banks, social policy banks, development banks, 2 people's credit funds... Up to now, the QR code network has covered everywhere. Promoting digital transformation at banks contributes to attracting customers to use convenient services. Currently, the whole province has over 781,000 personal payment accounts, POS payment revenue in 2024 is estimated at 1,200 billion VND, e-commerce payment is developing, cashless payment in rural, mountainous and remote areas is promoted, promoting electronic payment in public services...
