In "A Thousand Years of Vietnamese Tea" (published by Chibooks and Labor Publishing House), author Do Quang Tuan Hoang takes readers on a journey to explore the tea plant from many aspects and stages, from tea buds and ancient tea-growing regions… to its transformation into a beverage and food… all viewed through fascinating cultural, political, historical, and social lenses.

The author states, "Because I love drinking tea, I had to search for everything related to tea. Wherever I went, I made an effort to find tea plants, ask locals about how to make and drink tea, and learn about customs and traditions related to tea." Therefore, the book is largely dedicated to the journey of exploring ancient Shan Tuyet tea-growing regions such as Lung Phin, Cao Bo (Tuyen Quang), Tua Chua (Dien Bien), Phja Den (Cao Bang), Bang Phuc (Thai Nguyen)...

Unique tea-making methods that produce delicious beverages such as Oriental Beauty tea, white tea, red tea, black tea, blue tea, bud tea, tangerine tea, etc., as well as infusing tea with lotus, jasmine, betel nut, pomelo, wolfberry, etc., have been introduced, showcasing the diversity of tea in our country.

In each story, the author uses the ethnographic format, including observation and participation in field research, to provide the most authentic and comprehensive perspectives. In addition, individuals and businesses that are working to preserve and revive ancient tea varieties such as Man Hao, Tra Chot, Tra Linh, etc., are also mentioned.

Looking to the future, one of the issues the author is concerned with is how to further introduce this special beverage to the world , and the current situation and plans to realize this goal are also discussed.
