From November 18th, Gia Lai province experienced prolonged heavy rainfall, with precipitation levels generally ranging from 50 to 150 mm, and exceeding 260 mm in some areas. Many areas were flooded to a depth of 0.3 to 1.5 meters, and in some residential areas, 70-80% of the houses were submerged.
By noon today, November 19th, many areas in Quy Nhon Dong and Quy Nhon Tay wards and Tuy Phuoc commune were severely flooded, affecting infrastructure and houses.
Forecasts indicate very heavy to very heavy rain will continue until November 20th, while water levels in the Ba and Kon rivers are high, exceeding alarm level 3. Many reservoirs are overflowing and have reached over 80% of their design capacity, posing a risk of deep flooding, flash floods, landslides, and prolonged isolation, especially in areas recently severely damaged by Typhoon No. 13. This could lead to a "double damage" situation, seriously affecting the lives and safety of the people.
