Today, water flow in hydroelectric reservoirs is still very low.
Specifically, the water level of hydropower reservoirs in the North and North Central regions increased slightly compared to yesterday; in the Southeast region, the water level fluctuates slightly, remains at a low level; In the South Central Coast region, and in the Central Highlands, the water level of the lakes has decreased slightly, within the minimum water level prescribed by the operating procedures.
According to ATMT, the amount of water entering the lake is mainly to regulate the water to ensure the minimum flow, hydroelectric power plants operate to generate electricity by the return water flow, and factories in the North and North Central regions generate electricity in moderation with low water column and low capacity to ensure the safety of the unit when operating.
Some lakes are close to dead water level: Thac Ba, Ban Ve, Thac Mo, Dong Nai 3. Specifically: Thac Ba Lake: 46.24/46 m (minimum regulation: 46.5 m); Ban Ve Lake: 157.06/155.0 m (minimum requirement: 169.7 to 174m); Thac Mo Lake: 199.63/198 m (minimum regulation: 202.5m to 203.2m); Dong Nai Lake 3: 571.56/570 m (minimum regulation: 571.5m to 572.8m).
Meanwhile, some lakes with very low water level are: Son La, Hua Na. Specifically:
Due to the low water flow, many hydropower plants only generate electricity moderately with low water column and capacity: Son La, Huoi Quang, Ban Chat, Thac Ba, Tuyen Quang, Hua Na, Trung Son, Thac Mo, Dong Nai 3.
Forecasting the hydrological situation, the water flow to the lake in the next 24 hours will continue to decrease slightly.
Electricity demand continues to increase
According to updated data on the morning of June 16 by EVN and the National Load Dispatch Center (A6), on June 0, the total load of the power system increased more than the previous day, reaching 15 million kWh. Of which, the North is estimated at 6 million kWh, the Central region is about 832,2 million kWh, and the South is about 384,6 million kWh.
The peak capacity of the national power system (Pmax) peaked at 14:30 at 39.768,9 MW. In the North it is 17.892 MW (at 14:30), the Central is 3.895 MW (at 16h), the South is 18.206 MW (at 13:30).
By the end of June 15, 6, the total mobilized output from hydropower was about 2023 million kWh (of which the North mobilized 168,1 million kWh) down from June 59,3; coal-fired thermal power mobilized 14 million kWh (the North 6 million kWh); gas turbine mobilizes 463,4 million kWh and does not have to mobilize oil power.
Grid-connected renewable energy power mobilizes over 70 million kWh, of which wind power is 25,1 million kWh.
According to EVN, by the end of June 15, there were 6 transitional renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 51 MW submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for approval of temporary electricity prices.
As for the Northern coal-fired power source, EVN said that the coal fuel source for production is guaranteed. Total long-term incidents 2.100 MW; Total short-term incidents: 300 MW.
Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Electricity Group continue to direct, urge and find all solutions to enhance the operation of power sources, flexibly operate reservoirs in the context of water shortages in large hydropower reservoirs; urge thermal power plants to focus on prioritizing troubleshooting of power units; ensure the supply of coal and gas for power generation; actively add renewable energy sources to the system; strengthen the safe operation of the Central - North transmission system; continue to implement the Prime Minister's directive on saving electricity…
Answer VTC NewsTran Van Hoa, Deputy Director of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, said that in recent days the weather has improved, although the amount of water inflow has changed but not much, the water flow is 103m, while the minimum water level is 81,9m, so the power generation capacity is still low.
“We are continuing to monitor the amount of water coming in and send regular reports to EVN to have an appropriate power production plan.”, said Mr. Hoa.
Along with ensuring power supply, the leaders of Hoa Binh hydropower plant also asked employees to save electricity thoroughly, and at the same time cut off the air conditioner at the headquarters area.
“For nearly a month now, our offices have used natural light. In the process of working, use led desk lights and use electric fans. The weather is below 1 degrees Celsius, all leaders and employees are not allowed to use the air conditioner. Electrical appliances such as hot and cold plants, water heaters, etc. are powered off. Currently, the company replaces with available purified water bottles to save electricity. Public areas are minimized in light and automatically adjust the time to turn on and off the lighting system. Mr. Hoa said.
