At the festival, visitors have the opportunity to experience many delicious flavors of Southern Vietnamese culinary culture with unique traditional cakes.

This activity not only contributes to preserving and promoting the culinary values ​​of Southern Vietnam, but also introduces and promotes the traditional cakes typical of this land to domestic and foreign tourists.

Coming to the festival, visitors have the opportunity to experience many attractive flavors in Southern culinary culture, especially when enjoying traditional cakes, they seem to find their childhood memories and the warm village atmosphere.

What impressed many people at the festival was the grilled rice cake. This cake is made simply from available ingredients such as rice flour, sugar and coconut milk. Through the skillful hands of the women, each cake has a delicious, sweet flavor and quickly becomes a popular dish during holidays, Tet, or to entertain guests.

Or like Ben Tre coconut leaf cake - one of the specialties of the West that anyone who enjoys it once will remember forever. Each small and pretty cake is a feat and skill of the baker to make the cake has the aroma of coconut leaves, the richness of the core combined with the richness of the bean paste and the softness of the sticky rice.

Then the orange cakes and the cong cakes covered with shimmering sugar are arranged on the tray, very eye-catching. The sweet rice rolls with green bean and coconut filling have a soft, chewy crust, lightly fragrant with roasted sesame and the sweet, fatty green bean filling, very attractive...

Each type of cake has its own unique flavor. Southern people have taken advantage of the natural environment and raw materials from rice, sticky rice, potatoes, and tubers to make delicious and nutritious cakes.

Ms. Le My Ngoc, group 3, ward 5, Bac Lieu city shared that she has kept making grilled rice cakes for many years not simply to make a living, but also because this is the traditional profession of her family and hometown. “The types of cakes I make are not new, but the delicious flavor is imbued with tradition, passed down from grandparents to children and grandchildren. Each cake I make reminds my children and grandchildren of the family's traditional profession and the cuisine of my hometown,” Ms. Ngoc confided.

For many Southerners, cakes are not only used for eating but also the crystallization of local products, the sophistication in design, color, the skillful hands of artisans, and the grace and diligence of Southern women.

Along with displaying and introducing cakes, there are nightly art performances and folk games associated with the festival's activities.
