At the festival, visitors have the opportunity to experience many delicious flavors of Southern Vietnamese culinary culture with unique traditional cakes.

This activity contributes to both preserving and promoting the value of Southern Vietnamese folk cuisine, and introducing and promoting the region's distinctive traditional cakes to domestic and international tourists.

At the festival, visitors have the opportunity to experience many attractive flavors of Southern Vietnamese culinary culture, especially when enjoying traditional cakes, which evoke childhood memories and the warm atmosphere of the village.

What impressed many at the festival was the grilled rice cake. This cake is made simply from readily available ingredients such as rice flour, sugar, and coconut milk. Through the skillful hands of the women, each cake, with its delicious and sweet flavor, quickly became a popular dish during holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), or to serve to guests.

Or consider Ben Tre's coconut leaf cake – one of the specialties of the Mekong Delta that anyone who tries it once will never forget. Each small, delicate cake is the result of meticulous craftsmanship and skill, ensuring the cake has the fragrant aroma of coconut leaves, the rich creaminess of the coconut milk, the nutty flavor of the bean filling, and the soft, chewy texture of the glutinous rice.

Then, the orange-flavored cakes and crescent-shaped cakes, covered in glistening sugar, were arranged beautifully on the tray. The sweet rice rolls with mung bean and coconut filling had a chewy, soft outer layer, a light aroma of roasted sesame seeds, and a rich, sweet, and creamy mung bean filling—absolutely irresistible...

Each type of cake has its own distinctive flavor. People in Southern Vietnam have utilized the natural environment and ingredients from rice, glutinous rice, potatoes, and tubers to create cakes that are both delicious and nutritious.

Ms. Le My Ngoc, residing in Hamlet 3, Ward 5, Bac Lieu City, shared that she has maintained the tradition of making grilled rice cakes for many years not simply for livelihood, but also because it is a family and hometown tradition. “The types of cakes I make may not be new, but their delicious flavor is deeply rooted in tradition, passed down from grandparents to children and grandchildren. Each cake I make reminds my children and grandchildren of the family's traditional craft and the cuisine of our homeland,” Ms. Ngoc confided.

For many people in Southern Vietnam, cakes are not just for eating, but also represent the culmination of local produce, the sophistication in design and color, the skillful hands of artisans, and the grace and diligence of Southern Vietnamese women.

Along with the display and introduction of various types of cakes, there are nightly art performances and folk games associated with the festival's activities.
