In keeping with the vibrant emulation movement celebrating the 94th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, residential areas throughout the province are urgently preparing for the National Unity Day in a meaningful, effective, safe, and economical manner.
With the theme "Solidarity Day - Deepening the Bond Between the Military and the People," the entire province will organize the National Solidarity Day in residential areas on November 10th. This is the third year the province has launched and organized this event simultaneously, creating an atmosphere of enthusiastic and vibrant competition, attracting the active participation of a large number of people in the area.
Hai Son commune (Mong Cai city) is one of three localities in the province selected to host the 2024 Community Cultural Festival for the Great Unity of the People and the People. These days, the atmosphere of preparation for the festival is bustling and urgent, from decorating the venue and improving the environmental landscape to decorating the booths displaying local products… A large number of people from the villages are enthusiastically practicing their performances for the festival…
Mr. Phun Van Huy, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Son commune, said: This year, the Great Unity Festival is organized on a commune-wide scale with a special mark as it takes place at a "red address" - the Po Hen National Historical Relic Site. This is an encouragement for the people of the commune to better implement the emulation movement and build a more developed locality. Following the directives from higher levels, the commune has thoroughly disseminated information and closely coordinated with the Po Hen Border Guard Station and the City Military Command to develop a plan and meticulously prepare for the festival to be truly meaningful, demonstrating the spirit of national unity with diverse activities: folk games such as throwing the "con" (a type of ball); traditional grass-laying (say ma) exchange; women's football competition; an 8,600m run with the theme "Journey to find the 'red address'"; and the awarding of houses to comrades…
Busily preparing the village's booth at the festival area, Mr. Dang Van Hung, Party Secretary and Head of Po Hen village, excitedly said: "The village currently has 161 households and 827 inhabitants, of which over 87% are ethnic minorities. For the past 10 years, the village has continuously achieved the title of 'Cultural Village'. This year, the Great Unity Festival is organized on a commune-wide scale and has been selected by the province as a model event. We are extremely happy and excited. To contribute to the success of the festival, the villagers are working together to clean the village roads and alleys, decorate the village gate; hang the national flag and the Party flag; practice performing arts and make traditional embroidery products to display at the festival… This is an opportunity to strengthen love and solidarity, and work together to build a more civilized, prosperous and beautiful homeland."
Ban Sen commune (Van Don district) and Zone 1 (Co To town, Co To district) were also selected by the province to host the Solidarity Day in residential areas. Leading up to the event, the Fatherland Front in these localities launched and implemented a high-intensity campaign with many meaningful activities: organizing social welfare activities, addressing the damage caused by Typhoon No. 3; visiting and giving gifts to policy beneficiary families, meritorious individuals, exemplary veterans, and households in difficult circumstances; awarding, unveiling plaques, and inaugurating Solidarity Houses and Comrade Houses; commending and praising collectives, families, and individuals with outstanding achievements in emulation movements; organizing environmental protection activities and beautifying the landscape of residential areas…
Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Do Khanh Tung, emphasized: A new feature of the 2024 National Unity Day is the signing of a cooperation plan between the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Military Command on organizing the National Unity Day in conjunction with the Military-Civilian Cultural Festival . The theme for this year's festival is "National Unity Day - Deepening the Military-Civilian Bond". Successfully organizing the National Unity Day is of particular importance in gathering, consolidating, and strengthening the unity and consensus of the people in the community and residential areas; further promoting the close relationship between the military and the people, creating a solid foundation for the National Unity Day. This will strongly inspire enthusiasm and a spirit of emulation among the people, determined to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and maintain the development achievements of the province and localities. In the immediate future, it will encourage and mobilize the people to actively participate in the successful organization of the election of village, hamlet, and neighborhood heads for the 2025-2027 term. Emulation campaign to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.
