Teachers and students of Quang Tam Primary School, Quang Phu Ward, perform the flag-raising ceremony at the opening ceremony of the new school year 2025-2026.

From early morning, the festive atmosphere of the back-to-school day was evident in every family. Along every road from cities to rural areas, from the plains and coastal regions to the midlands and mountains, one could see students in their new uniforms, excitedly heading to school. At primary schools, we easily see the eager eyes of young children awaiting the opening ceremony as they enter first grade, and the watchful eyes of parents following their children's every step. Teachers were also busy preparing for this momentous day, as for the first time in history, nearly 1.7 million teachers and 30 million students from all educational institutions nationwide would simultaneously raise the flag and sing the national anthem, welcoming the new school year.

Having the honor of being one of the locations for the live broadcast of the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, the teachers and students of Tran Mai Ninh Secondary School in Hac Thanh Ward could not hide their joy, emotion, and pride at attending an unprecedented opening ceremony.

Teacher Duong Le Hoan, Principal of Tran Mai Ninh Secondary School, shared: "Excitement, enthusiasm, and pride are the feelings of myself and the entire teaching staff as we join in the bustling atmosphere of this year's special opening day. Just before the start of the new school year, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of education and training. The resolution emphasizes the need to innovate thinking, improve institutions, increase investment, establish specific mechanisms and appropriate incentive policies for teachers, and build an open, equitable, high-quality, and comprehensive education system. This is a major orientation, creating an important framework for the national education system in general, and Thanh Hoa's education in particular, to reach new heights. With that spirit, the teachers and students of Tran Mai Ninh Secondary School are determined to concretize the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, uphold the tradition of studiousness, and affirm the character and intelligence of Tran Mai Ninh students with the action slogan: 'Confidence - Responsibility'." - Integration - Success.

At Quang Tam Primary School in Quang Phu Ward, before the nationwide online opening ceremony and listening to the message and advice from General Secretary To Lam , the school organized an activity to welcome the first-grade students. To the sound of songs welcoming the new school year, a large number of students, teachers, and parents arrived early to prepare for the ceremony. Although the first-grade students were still a little apprehensive about attending their first opening ceremony at their new school, they became more confident with the encouragement of their older siblings and homeroom teacher.

The back-to-school day is no longer just a joy for students and teachers, but also for parents, as they place many hopes in the school where their children study. Ms. Hoang Thi Hue, a parent of a student at Quang Tam Primary School, shared: “This is the first time I've brought my child to first grade and also the first time I've witnessed a nationwide online opening ceremony. I and other parents feel very excited. We always expect and hope that the local government, the education sector, and the schools will provide the best things, nurturing and cultivating the young sprouts for the future of the country.”

Thanks to the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the support and cooperation of organizations and individuals, and overcoming all difficulties and challenges, teachers and students of schools in Yen Nhan commune - which recently suffered heavy damage from floods - had a meaningful and heartwarming opening day of the school year.

Putting aside worries and losses, from early morning, on the roads still covered in mud from the recent storm, parents and students of Yen Nhan commune eagerly flocked to the schools to welcome a new school year. Unlike previous years, this year many students came to school with significant losses, both material and emotional. But overcoming all difficulties and hardships, all the children were dressed in their new uniforms. The faces of the students and parents clearly showed joy, confidence, and excitement as they embarked on a new school year.

Luong Bao Hung, a third-grade student at Yen Nhan I Primary School, shared: “Because the muddy road was very difficult to travel on, my grandmother and I came to school very early this morning to attend the opening ceremony with our classmates and teachers. I was very happy to receive such attentive care from the teachers at school.”

A special first day of school

Before taking her child to school, Ms. Lo Thi Hiem, from Khong village, Yen Nhan commune, didn't forget to remind her child: "The flood swept away our house, we no longer have a home, but the government still cares for us and the people of the village. Therefore, when you go to school, you must study hard, listen to your teachers, and become a good person." Ms. Hiem's words to her child on the first day of school deeply moved us. Perhaps this will also be the motivation for her child to overcome all difficulties and excel in their studies and personal development.

Unlike the opening ceremonies of previous years, this year's ceremony was a new and very special experience for over 1,000 students and teachers at the Hoang Hoa Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center. All activities on the opening day revolved around a LED screen placed in the center of the schoolyard, connected online to the general opening ceremony organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in Hanoi. When the majestic sound of the national anthem rang out, eyes filled with joy and excitement, attentively watching and singing along to express their national pride.

Overview of the opening ceremony at Hoang Hoa Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a teacher at the Hoang Hoa Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center – who has witnessed 25 opening ceremonies at this school – emotionally shared: “Never before have we attended an opening ceremony connected to such an important event in Hanoi. Students and teachers participated together in the flag-raising ceremony, sang the national anthem, listened to the opening drumbeat, and heard the New Year's greetings broadcast on television. Each person had their own feelings, but overall, there was a sense of pride knowing that we were participating in the ‘great flow’ of national education.”

The opening ceremony at the Hoang Hoa Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center, as well as other educational institutions in the province, was made even more meaningful by the messages conveyed through the "opening ceremony screen." All of this created a special connection, a unity between the central and local levels, between tradition and modernity. In that moment, geographical distance seemed to disappear, leaving only the bond between teachers and students, friendship, and the belief and aspiration to excel in learning and training for a brighter future.

This year's opening ceremony is quite special and unprecedented – it will be an unforgettable memory for both teachers and students across the country. Following the ceremony, schools and students begin the new academic year with renewed hope and enthusiasm, along with numerous challenges and difficulties. However, with the attention of all levels of government and relevant agencies, the dedication of each official, teacher, and student, and the support of the people, we are confident that the province's "nurturing of human resources" will continue to reap many more "sweet fruits," meeting the needs for improving the quality of human resources in the new era – the era of national progress.
