Nghe An: Highlights of June 8th

* On the afternoon of June 8th, the 19th Provincial People's Council of Nghe An, term 2026-2031, held its 2nd session (special session) to consider and decide on matters within its authority. The session adopted 8 resolutions, considering and deciding on important issues as the government at all levels enters a new term, and addressing urgent immediate needs regarding public investment and the implementation of projects aimed at socio-economic development, national defense, and security.

* On the morning of June 8th, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and representative of the 19th Provincial People's Council, along with other delegates, met with voters in Truong Vinh ward before the mid-year regular session of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council in 2026.

* On the morning of June 8th, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, along with delegates of the 19th Provincial People's Council, held a meeting with voters in Vinh Hung ward before the mid-year regular session of the Provincial People's Council in 2026.

Presiding over a meeting on the progress of compensation, support, and resettlement for the Vinh International Airport runway extension project, Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested that the land clearance for the project be completed no later than June 30, 2026, and the land handed over to ACV at the beginning of July 2026 for construction to commence.
