Nghe An: Highlights of May 9th

* On the morning of May 9th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council supervised the implementation of socio-economic targets in Dien Chau district. The supervision revealed that Dien Chau district projected achieving or exceeding the plan for 27 out of 32 targets; including 9 out of 10 economic targets, 13 out of 14 cultural and social targets, 5 out of 6 environmental targets, and 2 out of 2 national defense and security targets.

* On the morning of May 9th, in Vinh City, the Nghe An Provincial Council for New Rural Development Assessment held its 4th round of voting to assess communes that meet the new rural development standards at various levels in 2024. This round included an additional 18 communes that achieved advanced new rural development and model new rural development standards.

* On the afternoon of May 9th, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Bloc of Provincial Agencies in Nghe An Province held a conference of key officials to review and supplement the planning of leadership personnel for the Party Committee of the Bloc for the 2020-2025 and 2025-2030 terms, in accordance with Regulation No. 50-QĐ/TW dated December 27, 2021, of the Politburo on personnel planning.

* On May 9th, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), announced the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and the Provincial Green Index (PGI) for 2023.

* Today (May 9th), 9th-grade students across the province began registering for the 10th-grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year. Although each candidate has up to three choices to register for, the selection process remains challenging.
