Artist Xuan Quan is considered a veteran hat boi (traditional Vietnamese opera) artist of the Ho Chi Minh City hat boi Art Theatre.

Ms. Trang said that her husband had been battling cancer for the past five years. He had a follow-up appointment two days ago, but unexpectedly, he passed away quietly this afternoon.
Artist Xuan Quan, whose full name is Tran Van Quan, was born in 1961 in Saigon. He dedicated his life to the art of traditional Vietnamese opera (hat boi), most notably his role as Trinh An in the play "Tram Trinh An ".
Artist Hoang Vinh, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Opera Theatre, shared with Tuoi Tre Online that the passing of artist Xuan Quan is a great loss to traditional opera art.
He and his wife were two skilled artists at the theater. Mr. Xuan Quan retired a few years ago. Despite his retirement, he still misses his profession and remains actively involved.
Artist Xuan Quan and People's Artist Huu Danh are responsible teachers who are always ready to help the theater train young people.
Furthermore, Mr. Xuan Quan also teaches dance to students of the traditional theater and singing department at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film and some other schools.
He was loved by generations of students because he was very kind and dedicated. He would explain everything thoroughly and help students to the best of his ability whenever they had questions.

Upon hearing the news of artist Xuan Quan's passing, artist Binh Tinh emotionally wrote on her personal page: "I bow my head in respect to Teacher Xuan Quan, who taught me wonderful sword techniques that contributed to the success of my role as Bui Thi Xuan in the play 'The Female General of Tay Son' ."
The funeral of artist Xuan Quan will be held at his home in District 12.
