The Food Safety Department announced that it had received information about a suspected food poisoning incident at the Tram Anh chicken rice restaurant on Ba Trieu Street, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, where many people experienced symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and fever, and are currently receiving treatment at medical facilities in the area.
Given the situation, the Food Safety Department requests the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health to direct medical facilities in the area to focus resources on actively treating patients, and if necessary, to request professional consultation support from higher-level hospitals.
Simultaneously, temporarily suspend operations at the suspected food poisoning facility, conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of the food poisoning incident according to regulations; collect food and biological samples and urgently send them to the nearest designated testing facility for analysis; determine the exact cause and publicly disclose the results to promptly warn the community.
The Department also recommended strengthening propaganda and guidance for food service establishments to ensure hygiene and food safety conditions. Strictly implement the management of food ingredient origins, three-step food inspection, food sample retention, and hygiene in all processing stages.
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , the Khanh Hoa Department of Health announced that as of March 14th, hospitals in the area had received nearly 200 people suspected of food poisoning after eating chicken rice at Tram Anh chicken rice restaurant, located at 10 Ba Trieu Street, Nha Trang City.
On March 13th, Tram Anh chicken rice restaurant was temporarily suspended from business pending an investigation.
Authorities have collected patient samples and samples of the suspected food poisoning to send for testing to determine the exact cause.
