Each year, Ngo Van So Secondary School in Lao Cai City welcomes dozens of delegations from within and outside the province for visits and learning experiences. The school's team of outstanding students consistently ranks among the top in the province in both the number and quality of awards won. Many of the school's teachers are key professional figures at the provincial and city levels. Parents entrust their children to this school with confidence. From this school, countless generations of students have grown up and embarked on their lives, continuing to pursue their dreams and aspirations... These general characteristics affirm the significant development of the school, proudly named after Grand Marshal Ngo Van So – a renowned general and a wise minister of the Tay Son dynasty under Nguyen Hue – in terms of comprehensive educational quality after 25 years of establishment. These are also the necessary conditions for building a high-quality school in the future.

Former Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Vinh Hien wrote his impressions about the school.
We were in class 9A during their English lesson and were truly surprised by the students' fluent English speaking ability and confidence in communication. Instead of the rigid, teacher-question-student-answer method, the students were actively engaged in multi-directional interaction between teacher and students, and among themselves. The classroom atmosphere was therefore lively with short dialogues and exercises. For an advanced lesson, the teacher even invited some students to act as tour guides, introducing famous tourist attractions in the local area and the country in English.

Delegates presented flowers to congratulate the opening of the 2018-2019 school year.
Ms. Phung Thi Dung, the school principal, said: "As one of the six schools in the province participating in the Ministry of Education and Training's Foreign Language Project 2020 and implementing the tourism school model, Ngo Van So Secondary School always focuses on improving the quality of the subject, considering it the 'key' to enhancing educational effectiveness and international integration. In addition to training and improving the quality of English teachers, the school also implements many methods to increase students' proficiency in the subject; conducts many extracurricular activities, integrating them into lessons to incorporate the activities of the tourism school model. As a result, students deepen their knowledge, become more confident and agile in communication, and are able to express their abilities and thoughts."
Recognizing that the quality of the staff is the key factor, the Party Committee and the school's Board of Directors have consistently focused on training and improving the professional skills of the school's staff, teachers, and employees over the years. To date, all 51/51 staff, teachers, and employees meet the standard qualifications, achieving 100%, with 76.5% exceeding the standard, including 2 with master's degrees. Many teachers are excellent homeroom teachers, outstanding teachers at various levels, and have achieved many high accomplishments in scientific research, gifted student training, and other competitions. Many teachers have become shining examples in the field of education, recognized as Emulation Soldiers, and received Certificates of Merit from the City People's Committee, Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Provincial People's Committee...
Besides improving the quality of the teaching staff, significant investment has been made in facilities and teaching equipment, with a complete system of classrooms, offices, playgrounds, parking areas, and a well-maintained school landscape. The modern equipment is sufficient to serve 23 classes with 767 students in a separate campus covering over 7000m2, including 17 offices and functional rooms, and 23 classrooms. With such comprehensive facilities, extracurricular activities on campus, such as physical education, sports , dance, and arts, take place regularly, attracting the participation of a large number of students and teachers. Extracurricular lessons and practical experiences in tourism are always exciting, lively, stimulating creativity, and engaging for students.
The relationship between school and family is a two-way relationship that is constantly monitored and addressed in a timely manner as society develops. Parents participate in community service, cultural exchanges, and attend model lessons. Lessons attended by parents are not staged in a formal way; they proceed according to the lesson plan and content. Through this, parents understand the teacher's teaching methods, the lesson requirements, and recognize their child's strengths and weaknesses in various subjects.

This is a milestone marking the remarkable development of the school and also a recognition by leaders at all levels and the education sector of the contributions of generations of teachers and students of the school.
According to Mr. Ngo Vu Quoc, Head of the Education and Training Department of Lao Cai City: "We highly appreciate the school's management team for effectively fulfilling their core professional role through concrete actions, such as developing breakthrough tasks in their positions, setting examples, and leading the way in self-study and self-improvement; participating in improving the quality of key areas, providing substitute teaching and model teaching for teachers with limitations to provide on-the-job training. The school also regularly maintains professional development activities based on lesson study. Ngo Van So Secondary School is one of two schools in the province piloting the new school model. The school's staff, teachers, and employees are always creative in carrying out teaching and learning activities. This is a dynamic school, and its educational quality consistently ranks among the top in the province."
Twenty-five years is not a long time compared to the history of the country, but for Ngo Van So School, it is a long enough journey for traditions to be inherited and continued. Proud of the traditions of this dynamic and integrated school, the current generations of staff, teachers, and students pledge to strive tirelessly, writing more glorious chapters in history and bringing honor to the school named after the heroic general Ngo Van So.
