People flock to Van Don orange festival

Starting today (December 9), the 2023 Van Don orange festival will take place in village 10/10, Van Yen commune (Van Don district). This is the first time the Van Don district People's Committee has organized this unique agricultural festival.

Many people participate in Van Don orange festival

According to the People's Committee of Van Don District, Van Don Orange Week is organized to preserve, promote, introduce, and advertise the image and potential advantages of Van Yen Commune in developing orange trees associated with promoting the form of community tourism to experience visiting orange gardens, thereby increasing people's income. Orange Week is also an opportunity for people to honor orange growers, contributing to the formation of local OCOP products.

Van Don oranges are in season, every tree is full of fruit.

Van Don oranges are planned to be grown in many communes with an area of over 400 hectares, but the largest concentration is in Van Yen commune. Oranges here are grown in large gardens, and up to now, the whole Van Yen commune has 68 households growing oranges.

Van Yen orange variety of Van Don district is famous as one of the typical agricultural products of Quang Ninh province with its fragrant and sweet taste. This crop is increasingly favored by local consumer markets as well as neighboring areas.

Not only is it economically valuable when consumed in many places, but orange farms in Van Yen commune also combine to provide experiential tourism for locals and tourists.

When coming to the orange gardens, visitors can pick oranges themselves and enjoy many local culinary specialties such as hill chicken, seafood...

Van Don oranges are suitable for the soil, so every fruit is very sweet. The price of each kilogram of oranges in the market ranges from 40,000 - 70,000 VND/kg, depending on the type.
