With just over a month left until the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, and amidst the increasingly hectic pace of life, many people in Ha Tinh have begun to "gear up" for Tet shopping early to secure goods and optimize costs. In particular, people's shopping habits are gradually changing towards a more flexible and modern approach, with online Tet shopping becoming a preferred choice for many, especially working women.

As an office worker, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (Ha Huy Tap Ward, Group 17) doesn't have much time to shop at crowded markets and supermarkets. Learning from previous years, this time of year, Ms. Hanh proactively "shops for Tet" right on her phone and computer, stocking up on everything from clothes and decorations to cakes, sweets, drinks, and gifts.
Ms. Hanh shared: “Previously, I only started shopping close to Tet (Lunar New Year), and my busy work schedule often meant I was rushed, sometimes even placing late orders that couldn't be delivered before Tet. This year, I proactively started ordering items like decorations, household goods, and clothes through online shopping apps and websites of reputable supermarkets and stores. Online shopping allows me to be more proactive, easily compare prices, choose products, and schedule home delivery at my desired time.”

According to many residents, shopping for Tet (Lunar New Year) online is not only convenient but also helps them optimize costs through promotions and discounts. Ms. Ha Thi Bich Hong, an office worker in Thanh Sen ward, shared: “In recent years, I have switched to shopping online more often. From candies and dried foods to beverages, I order everything from supermarket websites or official stores on e-commerce platforms. This not only saves me travel costs and prevents rushed shopping, but also allows me to take advantage of many promotions and free shipping, especially when buying in bulk. Some online orders can save me from several hundred thousand to over a million dong.”
Faced with the increasing consumer demand in the digital space, many businesses in Ha Tinh are proactively adapting. Ms. Tran Thi Lan, who runs a dried food business in Cam Xuyen commune, shared: “In parallel with traditional sales methods, my store is also boosting online sales. Products are introduced and advised via social media; customers only need to message to place orders in advance, and we will prepare and deliver them to their doorstep. This year, the number of customers ordering Tet (Lunar New Year) goods early has doubled compared to the same period last year, and we have also stepped up production to meet the supply.”

According to Ms. Lan, although the number of customer orders has increased significantly, food items usually have a short shelf life. Therefore, selling these items requires sellers to pay more attention to product quality, delivery schedules, and brand reputation, especially during the peak season at the end of the year.
In major supermarkets across Ha Tinh province, to meet the online shopping demands of customers as Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, most businesses are boosting online sales, along with offering various price and service incentives.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Marketing Manager at Co.opmart Ha Tinh supermarket, said: “Along with preparing a 30-40% increase in inventory at our retail outlets, we have strengthened online shopping through our official website and app, and created a dedicated Tet (Lunar New Year) page with many special offers for customers ordering online. This year, the trend of online shopping during Tet is increasingly evident, especially among young customers, office workers, and families living far from the city center. Therefore, the supermarket focuses on upgrading its ordering system, cashless payment options, and delivery services to provide a convenient and safe shopping experience.”

Boosting online sales not only saves consumers time and effort but also contributes to creating a vibrant and diverse Tet shopping market, aligning with the digital transformation trend in commerce. From consumers to small traders and retail businesses, everyone is gradually adapting to a new "Tet market"—a shopping space expanded in the digital environment, meeting the ever-increasing demands of the people. However, along with the convenience of online shopping during the Tet season, consumers also need to be vigilant, choose reputable vendors, carefully check product information and payment methods, and avoid transferring money in advance to accounts of unknown origin, in order to minimize the risk of fraud and ensure safety during transactions.
