The gasoline supply is proceeding smoothly.
On December 22, 2012, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 53/2012/QD-TTg on the roadmap for applying the blending ratio of biofuels with traditional fuels. This decision stipulated that after a trial period, from December 1, 2015, gasoline produced, blended, and sold for use in road motor vehicles nationwide would be E5 gasoline. By December 1, 2017, gasoline produced, blended, and sold for use in road motor vehicles nationwide would be E10 gasoline.
On November 7, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT regulating the roadmap for applying the blending ratio of biofuels with traditional fuels in Vietnam, stipulating that from June 1, 2026, biofuel gasoline will be distributed nationwide. This roadmap is implemented in accordance with the policies of the Party and the State, including Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the orientation of the National Energy Development Strategy of Vietnam to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW dated August 20, 2025, of the Politburo on ensuring national energy security until 2030, with a vision to 2045. The official nationwide transition to E10 bioethanol from June 1, 2026, is the next step in implementing the biofuel roadmap in accordance with Decision No. 53, consistent with practical requirements, legal basis, and the Party and Government's guidelines on energy transition, building a green economy, and reducing carbon emissions.
There are 183 retail gasoline stations operating in the province. From June 1st, E10 bioethanol fuel officially became available nationwide. This is a blended fuel containing 10% bioethanol and 90% mineral gasoline, designed to minimize emissions and protect the environment. Along with the rest of the country, gasoline stations in the province have now started selling E10 bioethanol fuel. Since its implementation, gasoline sales in the province have been stable, and supply has been ensured. Businesses are proactively transitioning, and people are gradually adopting and using the new fuel, contributing to the goal of green and sustainable economic development.
Previously, the Department of Industry and Trade had requested gasoline retailers to urgently review and complete their technical infrastructure such as storage tanks, pumps, and pipeline systems. Thorough preparation helped businesses be ready to sell E10 gasoline before the official implementation. Market management forces intensified inspections and supervision of the transition roadmap, contributing to maintaining market stability and protecting consumer rights. The gasoline business community in the area generally agreed and actively cooperated in implementing the government's roadmap. After nearly a week of implementation, the supply of E10 bio-gasoline has been smooth, with no shortages or quality complaints.
Close coordination between management agencies, businesses, and the participation of the people helps ensure local energy security, making a significant contribution to the country's overall efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change. This is an important prerequisite for the province to continue to concretize action programs on green growth, aiming towards an environmentally friendly economy.
