iPhone users are becoming targets of a sophisticated scam campaign that exploits fears of data loss to steal bank accounts and money. According to a warning from The Guardian, scammers are sending fake emails notifying users that their iCloud storage is full, along with threats to lock their accounts if they don't upgrade immediately.
These emails are designed to look exactly like official Apple notifications, and are even sent alongside real emails, making it easy for users to lower their guard. If the link is clicked, the victim will be taken to a fake website and asked to enter their Apple ID and credit card information.
As soon as the data is provided, criminals can take control of the account, steal money, and collect personal data for their own gain. Not stopping there, they also continuously send more warning emails with increasing severity levels to create psychological pressure and force users to fall into the trap. To avoid this, users should carefully check their email addresses, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and refrain from providing personal information through websites of unknown origin.
In case of doubt, the safest course of action is to check directly on the device or contact the bank and change the password immediately to protect your account. Readers are invited to watch the following video : Warning about scams using AI to steal Zalo and Facebook accounts.
