From time immemorial, the spirit of community solidarity, consensus, and cohesion in organizing activities and movements has always been a beautiful cultural feature maintained by the people of Hai Tan village (Nhu Thanh commune). To keep this spirit of unity alive, the crucial role of Mr. Truong Ngoc Dung, the head of Hai Tan village, is indispensable – a role model who consistently leads in all tasks and excels at disseminating information and mobilizing the people.

In the early days of spring, all the roads leading into Hai Tan village are ablaze with the vibrant colors of peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, and national flags, banners, and posters, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere. At the village cultural center, the atmosphere is equally lively with the laughter and chatter of villagers practicing performing arts and sports ... Joy is evident on everyone's faces, from the elderly to the young children; everyone is delighted in the warm and harmonious atmosphere of community spirit.

Leading us into the spacious village cultural hall, fully equipped with sound systems, tables, and chairs to serve the recreational and meeting needs of the villagers, Mr. Truong Ngoc Dung, Head of Hai Tan Village, shared: Currently, the village has 111 households with 442 inhabitants. The villagers mainly live by farming and working abroad, with a few also engaging in small-scale trading. For the people here, the tradition of solidarity, close-knit community spirit, and mutual support in economic development, illness, and funerals and weddings are always beautiful cultural aspects that have been preserved and nurtured through many generations. Thanks to this, the face of the countryside is increasingly changing, and the lives of the people are constantly improving.

To gain the villagers' consensus in carrying out tasks, throughout his many years as village head, Mr. Dung always recognized that to do things well, he must first set a good example and create unity, agreement, and support from the people. Therefore, over the years, whether it was a small or large task, such as cleaning up the environment, mobilizing people to donate land for road construction, contributing to the construction of the cultural center, etc., he always proactively discussed and thoroughly agreed with the Village Front Committee before implementing it to each household, with the motto "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit." At the same time, he actively propagated and mobilized the people to participate in building a model new rural village, especially explaining to the people the benefits of widening village roads and alleys. As a result, all households voluntarily donated land for road construction and other projects to complete the task of achieving the model new rural village status by 2022.

Furthermore, to provide a place for recreation and entertainment for the villagers after a tiring day of work, he and the Village Front Committee actively propagated and mobilized people to contribute, along with support from the State, to build a spacious and clean village cultural center with a total value of over 1 billion VND, fully equipped with sound systems, tables and chairs, and a playground for the elderly and children. Thanks to this, cultural and artistic activities, as well as sports activities in the village, are increasingly organized enthusiastically, attracting participation from all demographics and age groups. The "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement is becoming more profound, with the percentage of culturally exemplary families in the village consistently exceeding 86%, the spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved, and the village is free from social vices and domestic violence. Weddings and funerals in the village are also organized simply and economically, eliminating outdated customs while still preserving the good traditional rituals and customs of the locality.

Furthermore, leveraging his position and prestige, Mr. Dung actively promoted and encouraged villagers to develop the economy and reduce poverty through measures such as: restructuring crop and livestock production, applying science and technology to production to increase productivity and quality, converting rice fields without reliable irrigation to cultivate high-value fruit trees, and introducing new rice varieties. As a result, people have boldly changed their mindset and methods, building models of family farms, livestock breeding, and fruit tree cultivation that generate considerable income. Thanks to this, the average per capita income in the village currently exceeds 60 million VND per year.

Mr. Dung's dedication and responsibility, along with that of the village's Front Committee, have fostered trust and unity within the community. Expressing his joy at the village's transformation, Mr. Dung shared: "As the village head, I will continue to be a role model, leading the way in all activities and movements; dedicating my time to 'going door to door' to listen to the legitimate concerns and aspirations of the people, while also promoting and encouraging their active participation in the village's common tasks."
