Are the Glazers about to put an end to Amorim's time at Manchester United?

The atmosphere at Manchester United is heating up as the Glazer family is reportedly unhappy with manager Ruben Amorim over the team's instability and inconsistent form.

Amorim could very well be sacked by MU.

According to British media, the Glazer family requested a high-level meeting to discuss a range of issues, including the team's direction, the wave of fan criticism, and the club's financial and sporting future.

While Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS group – the football management body – wanted to give Amorim more time, the Glazers were growing impatient. Sources within the club indicated that the American owners feared the team could continue to fall out of the Champions League race, a result that could jeopardize both the season and their long-term plans.

Missing out on the Champions League would cause significant damage to commercial revenue and sponsorship deals – something the Glazers see as a crisis not only in terms of technical aspects but also in business. In their view, the problem extends far beyond the technical side.

Under Amorim, MU's performances have been inconsistent, consistently dropping points and falling out of the top four. On the morning of December 5th, they failed to beat West Ham at Old Trafford. Prior to that, the "Red Devils" also disappointed by failing to beat Everton despite their opponents being down to 10 men.

A lack of identity, intensity, and a stagnant style of play have led MU fans to openly question whether Amorim is truly the right man for the rebuilding process. Many fear a repeat of the scenarios under Solskjær or Ten Hag.

In the coming days, a meeting between the Glazer family and INEOS leaders is expected to take place. The MU owners will conduct a comprehensive assessment of Amorim's work, the dressing room spirit, and even potential replacements before the January 2026 transfer window.
