The writer and poet of Muong Man has passed away.

The writer, poet, painter, and screenwriter Muong Man passed away on the afternoon of January 28th, at the age of 79.

Mrs. Tran Thi Phuong Binh, the wife of writer and poet Muong Man, shared with Tuoi Tre Online that the cause of her husband's death was a heart attack.

Ms. Phuong Binh recounted that the writer Muong Man had previously been hospitalized for emergency treatment. After about two months of treatment, he recovered and was discharged from the hospital to return home.

About three weeks ago, his condition worsened, and writer Muong Man was taken by his family to Van Hanh General Hospital for emergency treatment, where he passed away at 5:45 PM on January 28th.

The writer and poet Muong Man has many famous works that are widely known, such as: the long story " Leaves of Longing ," "Missing a Stranger," " Melancholy Like a Butterfly , " "Cry Again, Early Morning ," etc.

In addition, he has published many novels such as: Hong Ha, Kieu Dung, More Delicious Than Forbidden Fruit, Enchanting Moon, Autumn with Tangled Hair, Drifting Water Hyacinth, Hundred Years of Salt, Empty Cup of Love…

Muong Man previously published the poetry collections Vong (1995) and Diu Khuc (2008). The collection Diu Khuc was published by Nha Xuat Ban Tre (Youth Publishing House) to commemorate his 45th anniversary of writing.

Besides writing prose and poetry, he was also a screenwriter for many films such as: The Insider (1987), The Sound of the Zither (titled The Story of Nga Bay , 1997), Wind Through the Dark and Bright Regions (1995), Moon Without Seasons (1998), Destiny (2003)...

The TV series "Duyen Phan" (Destiny) was considered the longest-running series produced by Binh Duong Television Film Studio at the time (16 episodes), directed by Le Cung Bac and written by Muong Man.

The writer and poet Muong Man used to work in book design and illustration for books and newspapers, including the magazine Ao Trang (White Shirt). Around 2007, he stopped writing and dedicated most of his time to his family and managing the Ruoc restaurant.

The writer, poet, painter, and screenwriter Muong Man, whose real name was Tran Van Quang, was born in 1947. The coffin of writer Muong Man is laid to rest at 78/21/14 Nguyen Van Khoi Street, Thong Tay Hoi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The embalming ceremony began at 6:00 AM on January 29th, and the funeral procession will take place at 6:00 AM on January 31st. Afterwards, the remains will be cremated at the Binh Hung Hoa Crematorium (Ho Chi Minh City).
