Composer Tiến Luân, a close colleague of composer Mặc Thế Nhân, told Tuổi Trẻ Online that the author of the song "Cho vừa lòng em" (To Please You) passed away at 4 PM on August 8th in Ho Chi Minh City after a period of illness, at the age of 86.
The passing of musician Mac The Nhan has saddened many. Musician Tien Luan said he was very sad but that it was the law of nature, unavoidable.
In his final moments, musician Mac The Nhan lived surrounded by the love of his children and grandchildren.
Five years ago, the musician had to be rushed to the hospital due to a stroke. After recovering from the critical condition, he received attentive care from his family.
Composer Mac The Nhan, whose real name is Phan Cong Thiet, was born in 1939. Besides the pen name Mac The Nhan, he also used the pen names Nha Uyen and Phan Tran in his songwriting career.
