The funeral of musician La Van Cuong was held at the Vang Sanh Hall, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh City. The embalming ceremony took place at 12:30 PM on November 30th. The funeral procession began at 5:30 AM on December 2nd, after which the remains were cremated at the Binh Hung Hoa Funeral Center.

Composer La Van Cuong is the author of many popular songs such as "Sometimes," "Love Garden," "Emerald Green," "Farewell Song," "Destiny," etc.

He was born in 1957 and joined the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Force at a very young age, working in many localities such as Dak Nong - Dak Min, Duyen Hai farm (Can Gio) or the Tri An reservoir hydroelectric area... before returning to work in Ho Chi Minh City.

Having a talent for music , even during his time as a Youth Volunteer, La Van Cuong shone with many songs he wrote about the activities of this green-uniformed force. Among them, his song "On the Path of Life" became the main theme song of the famous film "Jade in the Stone," a film about the Youth Volunteer force, marking the debut role of actress Viet Trinh and the participation of Miss Ly Thu Thao.

In particular, through his compositions, musician La Van Cuong met the voice of Hong Nhung, one of the singers who most successfully performed his compositions.

The duo La Van Cuong and Hong Nhung achieved tremendous success with their albums " Suddenly I Hear You Singing" (10 love songs by La Van Cuong and Tran Quang Loc), "Garden of Love," "The Call of Eternity ," and other songs like "Familiar Scent," "Why Don't You Come Home," "Then There's a Time," "Farewell Song," "Garden of Love," "Sometimes," "Jade," "The Call of the Past," "Sad Song," etc. , becoming a phenomenon in Vietnamese music for a time.

Besides composing, musician La Van Cuong is also known as a benefactor to many artists when he served as Director of the Lang Ong - Ba Chieu historical site. He transformed the site into a destination for artistic programs. Many poetry and music nights featuring artists such as Vu Ngoc Giao, Chau Dang Khoa, Doan Vi Thuong, Bui Chi Vinh, Tran Van Hung, Mai Tran, Tran Tien, Phan Vu, etc., were held there.

After retiring, La Van Cuong remained involved with music, participating in activities organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Musicians Association. According to his family, he left behind a legacy of over 400 songs on various themes such as love, homeland building, folk songs, historical songs, and meditation songs.
