The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is drawing to a close, with the clash between PSG and Real Madrid arguably the most exciting and highly anticipated match in theory.
This is a clash between the two most recent Champions League winners: PSG this year and Real Madrid who lifted the trophy last year.

For many, this is an early final of the 2025 Club World Cup. The winning team will play against Chelsea for the trophy and a huge prize money.
In the quarter-finals, PSG had to work very hard to overcome Bayern Munich – a team lacking sharpness in scoring goals.
Despite playing with a two-man advantage towards the end of the match, Bayern Munich were unable to score a goal to at least force the game into extra time.
Conversely, Ousmane Dembele capitalized on a counter-attack to seal a 2-0 victory for the Parisian team.
What unfolded showed PSG's character, and also proved Luis Enrique's words upon arriving in the US: his team still possesses the same burning desire to conquer after reaching the pinnacle of European football.
The price paid for the victory against Bayern was red cards for Willian Pacho – the leader of the defense, the best passing center-back in the league, and Lucas Hernandez.

Real Madrid also had a difficult match against Borussia Dortmund. They seemed to control the game, leading 2-0 going into the 90th minute, but Xabi Alonso's team fell apart in the final minutes of added time.
"Los Blancos" advanced to the semi-finals with a 3-2 victory, thanks to a superb save from Courtois and a red card for Dean Huijsen – the center-back whom Alonso had transformed into a playmaker from the back.
Despite the initial nervousness, Real Madrid are improving with each game under Alonso. Gonzalo Garcia continues to score regularly, and Mbappe has just returned and scored a spectacular goal to heat things up for the clash against his former club PSG.
"We are motivated by the final, not by facing Mbappe," midfielder Fabian Ruiz said, explaining his and his teammates' motivation when facing Real Madrid.
Mbappe was, to some extent, the center of attention at the semi-final at MetLife. There has been a lot of controversy between him and PSG recently (the player has just withdrawn his complaint about harassment by his former club).

However, Mbappe's chances of starting remain open. Gonzalo is performing very well and plays a great pressing game.
The match is expected to be a high-level contest of pressing. Both Luis Enrique and Xabi Alonso, despite their different styles, demand high intensity play, wide movement, and accurate passing in tight spaces.
Opta's analysis predicts PSG have a 47.4% chance of winning in 90 minutes and a 58.7% chance of reaching the final (including extra time or penalties). The difference isn't significant, considering Real Madrid's supercomputer simulations show a 27.3% and 41.3% probability.
