Continuing the noble tradition of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province have affirmed their core role as an extension of the Party and State in charitable work. The branches have effectively advised Party committees and authorities on leadership, direction, and implementation of policies and guidelines on humanitarian work. A highlight of the branches' activities is the continuous innovation in content and methods, always focusing strongly on the grassroots level to understand and share. Branches at all levels have proactively and thoroughly examined each locality, reviewing and understanding the circumstances of each individual to advise Party committees and authorities on practical support plans, while actively mobilizing additional resources from society. Alongside this, training and development of Red Cross staff has also been prioritized to meet the demands of the new situation; propaganda and mobilization efforts have been intensified to attract and develop a large number of members and volunteers, contributing to the honoring of noble humanitarian values.
From the beginning of 2026 to the present, Red Cross branches at all levels in the province have coordinated with agencies, units, and philanthropists to support and assist over 50,000 poor people, victims of Agent Orange, orphans, people with disabilities, and lonely elderly people in difficult circumstances, with a total value of over 26 billion VND. Implementing the campaign "Each organization, each individual linked to a humanitarian cause," the Red Cross has mobilized organizations and individuals to support 172 beneficiaries, including disadvantaged policy families, lonely elderly people, orphans, people with disabilities, and those facing misfortune and hardship, with a total value of over 227 million VND. Volunteer teams have actively mobilized resources and implemented many practical activities to support people in difficult circumstances and students at schools with a total value of over 2.5 billion VND. Transparency and openness in operations are key to building strong trust with philanthropists. In carrying out humanitarian work, the Red Cross Society of Bac Dong Hung commune always emphasizes transparency through direct meetings as well as on social media platforms such as Facebook and Zalo. The clear public disclosure of information and images of activities has created reassurance and attracted more and more organizations and individuals to participate and support, creating practical effectiveness for the movement in the locality. Mr. Tran Ngoc Chien (Pho Hien ward), after suffering a traffic accident requiring long-term treatment, and with his wife lacking stable employment and frequently ill, faced an uncertain life. Upon receiving the care and support from the Provincial Red Cross Society, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc (Mr. Chien's wife) was deeply moved: "This is a huge source of motivation that helps our family alleviate difficulties and gives us more faith in life."

In 2026, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day will have the theme “Solidarity in Humanity” – a timely message, particularly meaningful in a world facing numerous challenges, divisions, and instability. The theme is not just a call to action, but also a guiding principle for the entire movement: People are not outside the community, but are part of it; humanitarian activities are not just about support, but about companionship, sharing, and respect for human dignity. On the journey of “For everyone, everywhere,” Red Cross branches at all levels in the province will play a core role, coordinating activities and connecting benevolent hearts to help vulnerable people. These efforts will be concretized through the “Humanitarian Month” taking place from May 1st to 31st, 2026. Comrade Doan The Duong, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, said: The 2026 Humanitarian Month will be implemented with many key and practical activities. Besides the large-scale launching ceremony, the Society will organize activities to assist vulnerable groups; voluntary blood donation, free medical examinations and medicine distribution for the people. In particular, livelihood support and the construction of Red Cross houses for poor households are considered sustainable solutions to help the poor stabilize their lives. The entire province strives to mobilize resources to reach 8 billion VND to support 5,000 humanitarian addresses and difficult circumstances.
The vibrant activities in response to Humanitarian Month and International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day not only deepen the journey of compassion but also create opportunities for each individual in the community to participate, contribute, and connect. Through these activities, acts of kindness are multiplied, love is shared, contributing to building a united, compassionate society where no one is left behind.
