Attending the event were comrades: Truong My Hoa, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President ; Pham Phuong Thao, former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, former Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Nguyen Thi Le, former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, former Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Truong Thi Hien, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Women Intellectuals, the conference creates an academic forum for scientists , experts, managers, female intellectuals... to share knowledge, research results, technology applications and contributions of female intellectuals in the cause of developing science , technology, building a sustainable society in the 50 years of national reunification. Along with that, building and connecting a network of female intellectuals across regions of the country to encourage and create strong motivation for female scientists to constantly strive, affirming their role and position in the trend of globalization and the era of national development.
The workshop also practically contributed to meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and contributed to the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

In her opening speech, Professor, Dr. Le Thi Hop, President of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals, shared that the conference received 57 reports from female intellectuals and scientists from many regions of the country. Accordingly, many research directions were mentioned in the reports, highlighting the role of female intellectuals in scientific research activities reaching the regional level, along with effective applications to life, in many fields: education, health, culture, art, industry - agriculture, resource conservation, environment, biodiversity...
The reports also provide proposals and recommendations for solutions to promote the role of female intellectuals in scientific research activities, contributing to the realization of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo.
At the conference, female intellectuals discussed many issues related to scientific research activities among women and the role of women in the development of science and technology. MSc. Le Thi Khanh Van shared that according to the statistics of the General Statistics Office, in the past 11 years, the number of female scientists increased from more than 56,840 to more than 79,000, accounting for 46% of the total research and development team.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that female intellectuals have become an important workforce in research, application and transfer of science and technology; contributing to orientation, policy building and promoting activities for the country's sustainable development.
According to comrade Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Ho Chi Minh City always respects, is proud of and highly appreciates the valuable contributions of female intellectuals. The achievements that Ho Chi Minh City has achieved in recent times all bear the strong imprint of female intellectuals. Many research works by female scientists have had an impact beyond the national scope, and have been recognized by domestic and international awards.
However, comrade Tran Thi Dieu Thuy also acknowledged that the role of female intellectuals in the field of science, technology and sustainable development has not yet been fully promoted. Female intellectuals still face many difficulties and challenges in the process of studying, researching, working, as well as in balancing between career development and organizing family life.

Implementing Resolution 57, Ho Chi Minh City continues to create favorable conditions for scientists, especially female scientists, to have more opportunities to promote their capacity, creativity, and contribute more to the cause of scientific development, innovation, and socio-economic development of the city.
