On July 22nd, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Command, led by Major General Phan Van Xung, Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, visited and presented gifts to families of war invalids and martyrs in Cu Chi District (Ho Chi Minh City) on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2023).

Major General Phan Van Xung cordially inquired about the health of each family, and expressed his hope that the families would continue to uphold the revolutionary tradition, strive to maintain good health, and remain shining examples for their children and grandchildren to learn from and emulate.

On the same day, Colonel Nguyen Cong Anh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, along with a delegation, visited and presented gifts to the family of Major General Tran Van Hung, former Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7, and the family of Senior Lieutenant Le Hoang Son.
* On the same day, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of District 1 organized the "District 1 Solidarity Day of Action".

Accordingly, District 1 provided support to over 500 households, including families receiving government assistance, war invalids and martyrs, people in difficult circumstances, union members, association members, and orphaned children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The total budget for this support exceeded 900 million VND. At the same time, the district also organized free eye examinations for elderly people in need; provided legal advice; assisted with job placement; operated "zero-cost" stalls; donated livelihood resources to disadvantaged households… along with many other specific support activities in each ward.

The goal of the District 1 Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term is to build District 1 into a safe, civilized, developed, and compassionate district. Therefore, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of District 1, political and social organizations, and Party committees at the grassroots level, as well as businesses in the area, are working together to care for those in difficult circumstances, aiming towards the goal of building a compassionate District 1.

On this occasion, officials, civil servants, members of the armed forces, and workers in District 1 also donated over 650 million VND to the "For the Poor" Fund, the "For the Homeland's Islands and Seas - For the Frontline of the Fatherland" Fund, and the "For a Green Truong Sa" program.
