After Typhoon No. 10 made landfall, many downstream areas of the Lam River were severely affected by prolonged heavy rain combined with high tides. The heavy rain and floodwaters flowing from upstream caused deep flooding in many riverside communes such as Lam Thanh and Hung Nguyen Nam.

Comrade Cao Anh Duc – Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen Nam commune, said: Currently, in Xuan Lam 9 hamlet, the bridge in the commune is flooded, causing many difficulties for people's travel. Living conditions are basically stable for the time being; however, if the water level continues to rise to half the height of the dike within the next two days, the commune will implement a plan to provide essential supplies to the people.
