In the house under construction, the Party Secretary of Trieu Nhu Phien village shared: Thanks to the investment of the State and the efforts of the people, the life of the Dao people has changed a lot. The economy is prosperous, security and order are stable and traditional culture is preserved.
Khe Nuoc currently has more than 80 households, including 69 Dao Quan Chet households. Conditions are still difficult, but people have boldly applied technical advances to production. Thanks to that, 16 hectares of wet rice have achieved a stable yield of 5 - 5.5 tons/ha/crop. Not only ensuring enough food but also creating a source of goods, contributing to increasing income for households.
Along with converting dry land areas to grow corn, people also combine raising livestock and poultry; some households boldly develop new models such as growing cardamom, raising bamboo rats, civet cats... which initially bring high economic efficiency.
Cinnamon - the main economic crop of Khe Nuoc villagers.
Leaders of Cat Thinh commune visited the economic development model of fruit tree growing of households in the village.
Like many Dao villages in the region, cinnamon trees have become a “poverty-relief tree” when 70 hectares out of hundreds of hectares of cinnamon trees of the local people have been harvested. Thanks to cinnamon, all households in the village have escaped poverty, many households have built spacious houses and purchased conveniences. The improved living conditions have also created conditions for people to actively participate in the new rural construction movement.
"Thanks to the contributions of money, land and labor from the people, 5 km of inter-commune and intra-village roads have been concreted, contributing to improving travel conditions and promoting trade" - Village chief Duong Kim Tuan said.
The economy is developing, security and order are guaranteed, bad customs are eliminated, and the Dao people here still preserve traditional cultural values.
Ms. Phung Thi Thao, a villager, shared: In keeping with the modern lifestyle, we still tell each other to preserve traditional culture. In the family, parents teach children the language of their ancestors, women preserve traditional costumes, actively participate in cultural and artistic movements; maintain traditional dishes from wild vegetables, bamboo shoots, chicken, pork, and corn wine made from leaves.
More specifically, the Dao Khe Nuoc people still preserve and conserve the coming-of-age ceremony and other unique cultural activities such as: the jumping festival, the new rice festival, the village praying ceremony...
"Maintaining the coming-of-age ceremony is not only a cultural ritual, but also a way to educate the younger generation to live morally, respect their ancestors, and unite the community," said Mr. Phung Vinh An, an elderly person in the village.
Khe Nuoc people actively participate in local festivals to preserve their identity.
Rising above poverty and preserving a rich traditional cultural treasure, the people of Khe Nuoc village are aiming to build it into an attractive eco-cultural tourist destination in the future.
To make the above goal come true, the village continues to propagate and mobilize people to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, while promoting family economic development associated with preserving and promoting traditional culture.
People hope that the State will continue to pay attention to investing in infrastructure construction, especially cultural institutions, to create conditions to promote the precious cultural identity of their nation.
