Wong Fei Hung was a famous Chinese martial arts master during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China period. He was also a physician with his Bao Chi Lin pharmacy. Wong Fei Hung is believed to have been born in 1847 or 1856 in Foshan, Guangdong, and died in 1924 or 1925.
He was taught Hong Family Fist by his father and also practiced many other martial arts. He emphasized the philosophy of practicing martial arts with virtue, not bullying the weak, using virtue to win people over, and eliminating the discrimination against women.
Many details surrounding Wong Fei Hung's life, such as the origin of the photograph believed to be his portrait or the martial art he mastered, remain subjects of debate among experts and descendants of the martial artist.
