As a Hmong woman born and raised in this very land, Ms. Khu understands the customs, traditions, and concerns of the youth in the highlands. This understanding has become the driving force behind her dedication and commitment to the Youth Union with all her enthusiasm and responsibility. Together with the Executive Committee of the commune's Youth Union, she effectively maintains volunteer activities for the community, such as environmental sanitation campaigns, supporting people in switching crops and livestock, and building economic models suitable to local conditions. The content of the Youth Union branch's activities has been reformed to be more relatable, incorporating legal education, life skills training, and career guidance, helping young people become more confident in establishing themselves and their careers.

Not only is Ms. Khu a passionate Youth Union official, but she is also a skilled legal communicator, contributing to Pha Long Commune's Youth Union winning first prize at the 2025 Festival of Excellent Legal Communicators in promoting and advocating against child marriage and consanguineous marriage. In addition, she actively connects with and organizes charitable programs, giving gifts to children and poor households in the area, contributing to spreading the spirit of compassion and sharing in the community.

These efforts have significantly contributed to the overall achievements of the youth of Pha Long. In 2025, the commune's Youth Union was honored to be one of 13 out of 104 units awarded the Flag of Excellence in Youth Union work and youth movements by the Executive Committee of the Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union. This achievement is a well-deserved recognition of the unity and creativity of the collective of cadres, union members, and young people, including the pivotal role of the Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, Vang Thi Khu.

Having been dedicated to the highlands since graduating from medical school, Ms. Vang Thi Din, a health worker at the Nam Chay Sub-station of the Muong Khuong Commune Health Station, has become a trusted support for the local people whenever they are ill. Graduating from the Lao Cai Medical High School in 2011, she began working in Nam Chay and has remained there ever since. For more than a decade, she has devoted herself wholeheartedly to the cause of caring for and protecting the health of the people in this challenging highland region.

At the Nam Chay Sub-station, she is in charge of population and development work and directly implements many health programs. Despite the large area and difficult transportation, Ms. Din and her colleagues are undeterred, staying close to the community, regularly visiting each village to identify target groups, encourage pregnant women to have regular check-ups, promote family planning, and gradually raise people's awareness of health care. She promptly grasps the disease situation, guides people on how to prevent it, and patiently explains and persuades people to bring their children for vaccinations with sincerity and responsibility. Thanks to this, the people of Nam Chay consider her like a family member. Following Ms. Din to Coc Ram village, we clearly felt this close bond. In her simple wooden house, she gently examines an elderly woman, kindly inquires about her health, and meticulously instructs her on how to take her medication on time and advises on a proper diet.

In each communication session, she always chooses a relatable and easy-to-understand approach, incorporating local customs and traditions to make it easier for people to grasp the message. Thanks to this perseverance, population and development work in Nam Chay has gradually improved, and people's awareness of health care has been increasingly raised.

Having worked at the facility for over 10 years, Ms. Vang Thi Din still maintains her passion for the profession, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to each shift and each examination. Her enthusiasm and responsibility not only contribute to improving the quality of primary healthcare for the people but also spread a positive image of healthcare workers in the highlands.
