Following the success of the competition over the years, the Department of Education and Training (GD&ĐT) has continued to launch, maintain, and implement the competition as a way to preserve, nurture, and affirm the core values of the teaching profession – namely, love, responsibility, and dedication. The "Teachers in My Eyes" competition in 2025 has concluded, but the profound emotions from the 297 entries are still strongly spreading throughout the community, demonstrating that the competition's appeal lies not in the prizes, but in the genuine feelings of the students.
Outperforming many impressive works, the piece "Support" by students Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thu, Nguyen Tuan Anh, and Dang Thu San from class 10D2, Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, excellently won first prize in the competition.
The work is a deeply moving story about the journey of Nguyen Tuan Anh, a male student who had an unfortunate childhood, abandoned by his parents, losing loved ones, and being left penniless after a natural disaster. From a boy burdened by self-doubt due to many harsh events, Tuan Anh found a strong emotional anchor in the compassionate and dedicated care of his homeroom teacher, Nguyen Thi Hong Van, like a mother. It was this practical love, from everyday acts of care to the profound empathy of his teacher and the entire 10D2 class, that helped him break down his psychological barriers, regain his confidence, integrate into society, and become a pillar of support for his loved ones.
Among the second-prize winning entries, the story "The Second Father and the Power of Belief" by students Hoang Trieu Minh Ngoc, Doan Khanh Van, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tra from Trang Dinh High School left a strong impression. They chose to tell the story of Mr. Trinh Hong Trinh, a physical education teacher.
Khanh Van shared: "The main character in our story is Minh Ngoc, a student who was self-conscious about her appearance and always chose to withdraw from the crowd. The turning point came when Mr. Trinh encouraged Ngoc to try shot put. Amidst the sweat on the training field and the many burdens of life, it was the unwavering belief of her teacher that became the foundation for Ngoc to break through. The bronze medal at the 2025 Lang Son Provincial High School Athletics Championship is not simply a sporting achievement, but a symbol of the growth of a soul nurtured by her teachers."
It is known that the number of entries in the 2025 competition doubled compared to 2024 and tripled compared to 2023. This year, the organizing committee awarded 20 prizes, including: 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes. Through the lens of the students, the image of the teacher becomes close, like a family member, a steadfast companion. Each film is a slice of life, where teachers not only appear on the podium with chalk and blackboard, but are present in every psychological turning point, every most uncertain stage in the lives of their students.
Mr. Dang Hong Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: In the 2025-2026 school year, the entire education sector will continue to implement the emulation movement to build "Happy Schools," aiming for an educational environment where students are loved and respected, where teachers can share and understand each other, and where each individual is safe, their value is affirmed, and they can develop comprehensively. In that spirit, the "Teachers in My Eyes" competition has truly brought practical values; the competition not only honors exemplary teachers who are dedicated, responsible, and full of love, but also gives students the opportunity to express their thoughts about gratitude, appreciation, and beautiful memories with their teachers on their journey to adulthood.
Some achievements are awarded with certificates and commendations, but some are truly recognized in the hearts of the students. It's the trusting gaze, the beautiful memories of timely encouragement, the helping hand when they feel lost in life. When students take the time to observe, empathize, and recount a story about their teachers, they learn many valuable life lessons, appreciating their teachers both at school and in life.
