These cakes are filled with love.

On February 11th and 12th, women's associations at all levels in Khanh Hoa province simultaneously carried out activities to make banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to donate to women in difficult circumstances. These cakes not only embody the flavors of Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) but also represent the heartfelt compassion, sharing, and care of the associations, aiming to bring a more fulfilling and warm Tet to those in need.

Early in the morning, 20 female officials and members of the Women's Union in Van Hung commune gathered at the Xuan Vinh village community house to wrap 200 banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to donate to women in difficult circumstances. The women meticulously prepared the ingredients: mung beans, pork, sticky rice, string, banana leaves, etc. Ms. Vo Thi Tran Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and President of the Women's Union, shared: “This activity not only demonstrates the spirit of mutual support and compassion but also creates a bond between local officials, members, and women. Each cake given away represents a token of affection, with the hope that women in difficult circumstances can have a warmer and more joyful Tet holiday.”

In Nam Nha Trang ward, the Women's Union implemented the "Cake Connecting Love" program with the participation of over 150 officials and members. Despite the busy days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the women still managed to find time to gather and wrap and cook the cakes at various locations: Phuoc Loi Cultural Center, Phuoc Thanh Cultural Center, Thai Thong 2 residential area, Truong Son 3 residential area, and Binh Tan 2 and 3 residential areas. In a lively and united atmosphere, 400 banh chung and banh tet cakes were produced to donate to women in difficult circumstances, contributing to spreading love in the community. At the same time, 50 officials and women members of Phan Rang ward joined hands to wrap 120 banh tet cakes. Each step was carried out carefully and meticulously, imbued with care and sharing, so that each cake was not only delicious and beautiful, but also warm with compassion given to those in need.

Many local women's associations have collaborated with local organizations and groups to turn the activity of wrapping banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) into a festival, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the traditional Tet holiday among members and the people. Notable examples include the Hoa Tri Commune Women's Union organizing a banh tet wrapping competition; the Nha Trang Ward Women's Union coordinating the "Banh Chung and Banh Tet Wrapping and Cooking Festival" to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year 2026; and the Ninh Chu Ward Women's Union having the program "Wrapping Green Banh Chung - Warmth of the New Year"... After wrapping, the units cooked the cakes and donated them to members, women, and children in difficult circumstances, along with meaningful gifts of essential goods. Touched by the gifts, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Huong (Nam Nha Trang Ward) expressed: "I am very moved by the association's care in giving me banh tet and gifts. Thanks to this, this Tet will be warmer."

This year, the Women's Union organized the wrapping and cooking of 6,125 banh chung and banh tet for 3,066 poor, disabled, and vulnerable women members, as well as families with orphaned children. Through this activity, the Women's Union hopes to spread responsibility, sharing, and love towards those in difficult circumstances so that all women can celebrate Tet in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.
