• Increase in regional minimum wage for workers effective July 1, 2022.
  • The driving test simulation section will be abolished from July 1st.
  • Ca Mau will pilot KPI evaluation starting July 1st.

The most widely discussed change is the complete abolition of the computer-based traffic simulation test in the national driver's license examination, effective July 1, 2026. This decision is based on Government Decree No. 94/2026/ND-CP, which abolishes the mandatory requirement for examination centers to equip their testing rooms with simulation equipment. This adjustment reduces examination pressure and eliminates the technical shortcomings of the automated scoring software, which has been the subject of much debate recently. Therefore, candidates taking the driver's license test will now only need to complete three core sections: theory, practical driving on a closed course (driving course), and practical driving on public roads.

Traffic police officers check the trainees' information before they proceed to the practical driving test on the course.
