Rhododendron blooming season in Taroko National Park
Magnificent nature
Hualien amazes many visitors with its magnificent natural beauty. The towering marble cliffs alongside the emerald green Liwu River in Taroko National Park are enough to melt the heart of any nature lover.
Taroko Gorge is one of Hualien's most famous natural landmarks. This rare marble gorge is the culmination of millions of years of erosion by the Liwu River. Here, visitors can stroll and explore the spectacular Swallow's Nest Cave, listen to the chirping of swallows, and cross a path flanked by towering cliffs and emerald-green streams, all in a refreshing atmosphere. The Changchun Temple, nestled against the cliff face, with its cascading white stream, creates a vibrant and picturesque scene.

Beyond its mountains, the unique beauty of Hualien's coastline also captivates visitors. Qixingtan (Seven Star Pond) is a strikingly beautiful beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with thousands of colorful, round pebbles where visitors can stack them high amidst the sound of waves lapping against the deep blue sea.
The journey through nature brings unexpected surprises, from the swaying flower fields along the roadside to the expansive beauty of the winding Thanh Thuy cliffs, stretching 21km and averaging 800m in height. From the viewpoint overlooking the caves from above, visitors can also feel the waves crashing against the rocks with the endless blue sea stretching into the distance.
Touching the memories of East Asia
Located between Hualien and Taipei, Yilan welcomes visitors with a unique yet intimate cultural experience.
Visiting the National Center for Traditional Arts, tourists can dress in traditional costumes and travel back in time to an ancient setting: a cool stream, soft lantern light, and gray walls telling stories of life in the past through simple drawings.

The local culture is also vividly recreated through folk plays with impressive dances and resonant melodies, performed by experienced and passionate artists. Immersed in this cultural flow, preserved with pride, anyone who comes here can experience a truly authentic feeling, as if they are actually becoming a local.
Taipei offers a very different kind of energy: vibrant, open, and inspiring. In the heart of the city, Taipei 101 rises with 101 floors, nestled within a bustling commercial district. Walking around the area, visitors can admire the tower's architecture, designed in the shape of bamboo – a symbol of resilience, perseverance, prosperity, and longevity in East Asian culture.
Not far from the city center, the ancient village of Jiufen emerges like a painting of traditional architecture nestled against the mountains and sea mist. The village is famous for its many narrow streets, fragrant shops, and time-worn staircases. Red lanterns stretch along the pathways, casting a warm glow over the space. Amidst this scenery, A-Mei Tea House stands out with its old tiled roof and wooden window frames, gently swaying under the lanterns, creating a classic and poetic atmosphere.
The gentle hues of life
The cuisine of Taipei-Hualien is diverse, rich, and always brings joy with many new experiences. From flavorful sausages and cured meats, xiaolongbao (steamed dumplings), fragrant pineapple cakes, hot beef noodles, rice with braised meat and eggs in the local style… all create a delightful culinary journey.
Taiwan is known as the birthplace of bubble tea, so this drink is ubiquitous with hundreds of brands, giving visitors the freedom to experience a new bubble tea flavor every day. Holding a refreshing cup of bubble tea while strolling through the city at night, stopping by the brightly lit night markets, the aroma of food wafting through the air – that's a simple kind of happiness.

Tourists release lanterns with their wishes written on them in the old village of Jiufen.
Despite the hustle and bustle of everyday life, one can easily find poetic moments in this land: people strolling leisurely under the green trees, street vendors adorned with floral paintings, or shop owners busily preparing food in their small kitchens. Just walk slowly, breathe deeply, and quietly observe; peace will subtly touch your heart without you even realizing it.
The vibrant colors of nature, culture, architecture, cuisine, and the rhythm of life combine to create a dazzling, diverse, and lively journey. Taipei and Hualien beckon to wanderlust, where the gentle joy lingers long after each trip.
Before visiting any location in Taroko, tourists should check the opening status and safety conditions at any given time.
