In the flow of modern society, preserving family traditions and moral values is a key factor in building a civilized community.
In Hamlet 3, Hoa Thuan Ward, the family of Ms. Tran Thi Van Thanh (born in 1967) has long been a shining example of the movement to build culturally exemplary families. As the head of the Elderly Association, Ms. Thanh always believes that family happiness is not just about material comfort, but more importantly, about understanding and sharing among family members.
Mrs. Thanh's family has three grown children, two of whom have their own families. Despite the many demands of daily life, the family members always uphold the tradition of respecting elders and caring for one another.
Mrs. Thanh and her husband always prioritize educating their children and grandchildren to be hardworking, responsible, and exemplary in implementing the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, especially those related to population and gender equality.
Besides caring for her own family, Ms. Thanh also devotes much of her energy to social work. As the branch head, she regularly interacts with and understands the concerns of the members, encouraging elderly people to actively participate in health-enhancing exercises, contributing to improving the spiritual well-being of over 100 members in the branch.
The family's compassion is demonstrated through practical actions: Every year, the family proactively allocates funds to support approximately 1,000 kg of rice and over 5 million VND in cash to help poor households and elderly people living alone in the local area.
In particular, the couple's joint efforts in maintaining security and order have had a positive impact on the community. Her husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, is the head of the Community Reintegration Club in Hoa Thuan ward.
For over 10 years, Mr. Hung and the club members have persistently worked to reform many offenders, helping them abandon bad habits and return to honest work and stable lives. The sincerity and compassion of Mrs. Thanh's family have inspired positive values and enriched the tradition of kindness in Vinh Long province.
Strengthening community bonds and neighborly spirit.

In Con Ho village (My Hiep A hamlet, Nhi Long commune), Mr. Huynh Van Nguyen (68 years old) is another exemplary figure in fostering community spirit and sustainable economic development. For over 40 years of marriage, he and his wife have maintained a harmonious home, raising three children who have grown up and have stable jobs. Their exemplary relationship serves as a foundation for their children and grandchildren to learn from, emulate, and actively contribute to local communities.
Understanding the potential of the island, Mr. Nguyen focused on developing the horticultural economy with an effective model of growing green pomelos and was a pioneer in community tourism. When the Con Ho community tourism project launched in 2020, he was trusted and elected as the head of the community tourism team. With his genuine nature and inherent credibility, he connected surrounding households to participate in tourism in a friendly, rustic way, preserving the unique characteristics of the riverine region.
Mr. Nguyen demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility in protecting the local environment and infrastructure. As the head of the self-governing community group, he regularly surveys the dikes surrounding the islet to promptly detect potential landslide risks and report them to the authorities for appropriate action.
He actively encouraged the people to build flower-lined roads, maintain clean and beautiful landscapes, and create a positive impression on tourists. Mr. Nguyen's contributions have helped to improve the appearance of Con Ho's rural area, demonstrating the power of unity and innovative thinking within each family.

In Bao Sen hamlet, Duyen Hai ward, the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Ve (born in 1972) is considered a core "nucleus" in local movements. With nearly 30 years of dedication to grassroots work and holding the position of Party Branch Secretary of the hamlet from 2017 to the present, Mr. Ve has always demonstrated exemplary leadership, following the example of "Party members leading the way, the people following."
In his leadership, Mr. Ve always emphasized uniting the strength of Party members and the people. He regularly listened to the legitimate concerns and aspirations of the people to promptly report them to the local Party committee and government. In the past five years, he coordinated with mass organizations to mobilize support, providing 15 tons of rice to help disadvantaged households; he also appealed to philanthropists to donate 12 million VND to purchase health insurance and award scholarships to support students facing difficulties.
Notably, in the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, Mr. Ve mobilized 27 households to donate land for the construction of a 1.5km long paved road. He also mobilized businesses to support 85 million VND to implement a rural road lighting project, making a significant contribution to improving infrastructure and ensuring security and order in the area.
Alongside his social work, Mr. Ve's family is a prime example of economic development with their integrated aquaculture model (shrimp and crab farming), generating a profit of approximately 200 million VND per year. The harmony and unity of the family members—from his wife, a dedicated healthcare collaborator, to his daughters working in the local area—have created a model cultural home, motivating him to continue contributing to the common cause of the Party Committee and the local people.
In reality, each happy and civilized family is the foundation for a stable and developing society. Exemplary families like Mrs. Thanh's, Mr. Nguyen's, and Mr. Ve's have affirmed the enduring value of the movement to build culturally refined families. From these simple yet loving and responsible homes, humanistic values continue to be spread, creating a combined resource to build a more prosperous, civilized, and modern homeland.
