After traveling over 200km along winding mountain roads, we arrived at Rao Tre village. Amidst the changing seasons, the distant Dang Man mountain range remained shrouded in thick fog. Leading us into the village, Major Doan Minh Tiep, a community outreach officer at the Ban Giang Border Guard Post in Rao Tre village, recounted: “There have been times when ‘bad elements’ have taken advantage of the lack of understanding among some villagers. Hostile forces have tried to infiltrate and spread false information, distorting the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State. A segment of the population, due to their naivety and gullibility, has sometimes wavered in their understanding, leading to the risk of instability in security and order, hindering the development of the village.”

A ceremony to admit new Party members in Rao Tre village.

Ms. Ho Thi Nam is the first Chut ethnic minority Party member in Rao Tre village (Phuc Trach commune, Ha Tinh province). One of the leading "red seeds" to bring the light of the Party to the foot of Ka Day mountain, she told us: "Bad elements come here to spread propaganda, but we don't listen. Because we have the Party, we have the army…".

Understanding this situation, the officers and soldiers of the armed forces in Ha Tinh province became even more persistent in staying close to the people and implementing the "three together" principle to help the people understand the schemes and tactics of hostile forces. At the same time, they actively supported economic and social development, eliminated backward customs, and eradicated superstition.

Local leaders and the Party branch committee of Rao Tre village presented the decision to Party member Ho Thi Suong.

Major Doan Minh Tiep shared: "We believe that we must be close to the people and understand them in order to effectively disseminate information. It's not just about explaining things to the people so they understand, but also about making them believe."

Thanks to the perseverance of the soldiers, more "red seeds" are gradually being nurtured right in the heart of Rao Tre village. On April 25th, Ho Thi Suong was honored to be admitted into the Party. This is not only a milestone in the journey of a young Party member's growth, but also the result of the persistent nurturing and guidance of the Party organization and the military forces in the area.

In a conversation with us, Party member Ho Thi Suong shared: “I want to return to teach near my village in the future, if I have the opportunity, to help the children have better learning opportunities. For me, the dream is not just about teaching literacy, but also about contributing to changing people's mindset and helping them value education more.”

The Party Committee, the local government of Phuc Trach commune, and the provincial armed forces are disseminating information to the Chut ethnic minority people in Rao Tre village.

Ho Thi Suong's maturity is also a source of pride for the youth of Rao Tre village, contributing to spreading the spirit of dedication, aspiration for progress, and a sense of responsibility in building the village and homeland.

Sharing with us, Mr. Le Nguyen Kien Cuong, Standing Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Trach commune, said: "Over the years, the military forces have persistently stayed close to the people, implementing many effective methods in propaganda and mobilization. As a result, the awareness of the people has been raised, creating favorable conditions for identifying, nurturing, and admitting outstanding individuals into the Party right in the area."

From the steadfast steps of soldiers to the growth of young Party members like Ho Thi Suong, these "red seeds" at the foot of Ka Day mountain are taking root day by day, building a solid foundation of popular support in the border region.
