The entire province now has 70 out of 121 communes that have met the standards for new rural areas.
In accordance with Resolution No. 55/NQ-HĐND of the Provincial People's Council, Tuyen Quang province has completed the concrete paving of 901.08 km of rural and field roads out of a total of 1,080 km planned for the entire period; and constructed 161 out of 200 bridges planned for the entire period.
It is expected that by the end of 2024, over 80% of village roads will be concreted, and over 65% of internal field roads will be concreted, fulfilling the objectives of the Resolution. This will gradually address the "bottleneck" in rural transportation and contribute to the construction of new rural areas in the locality. The percentage of schools meeting national standards at each level is: preschool 55.3%, primary school 74.2%, lower secondary school 68.2%, and upper secondary school 31.4%.
The people of Tuyen Quang organized the construction of rural roads.
The entire province has 96.4% of communes, wards, and towns meeting the national criteria for community health ; 100% of communes have community cultural centers. It is projected that by the end of 2024, the province's poverty rate will decrease to 10.95%. Notably, 100% of communes in ethnic minority areas of the province have roads leading to the commune center; the percentage of households using the national power grid and other power sources is over 99.9%.
To date, Tuyen Quang province has 70 out of 121 communes meeting the standards of the New Rural Development program, including 14 communes meeting the advanced New Rural Development standards, 2 communes meeting the model New Rural Development standards, and Tuyen Quang city has completed the task of building a new rural area.
The Youth Union of Nặm Đíp village, Lăng Can commune (Lâm Bình district, Tuyên Quang province) organized road cleaning and installed a street lighting system.
By the end of 2024, Tuyen Quang province aims to have an additional 18 communes meeting the standards of New Rural Area, Advanced New Rural Area, and Model New Rural Area, including 11 communes meeting the New Rural Area standard, 5 communes meeting the Advanced New Rural Area standard, and 2 communes meeting the Model New Rural Area standard.
To achieve these results, local Party committees and authorities in Tuyen Quang province have implemented policies and integrated programs, projects, and initiatives in communes, attracting numerous resources and unleashing the potential of the people. This has contributed to transforming the rural landscape and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, thereby gradually fulfilling the objectives of the Program for the 2021-2025 period.
Promoting the leading role of the people.
Recognizing that the people are the main beneficiaries in building new rural areas, in recent years, the Party committees and local authorities of Tuyen Quang province have focused on promoting the role of the people in implementing the Program, especially in directly participating in specific tasks to complete the criteria for building new rural areas.
Mr. Do Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Ham Yen District People's Committee, shared: "In recent times, Ham Yen district has done a good job of disseminating information, mobilizing support, and promoting the leading and core role of the people in building new rural areas. This has fostered internal resources, created consensus, and garnered positive responses from the people, bringing the New Rural Development Program to a deeper, more effective, and sustainable level."
Officials and residents of Vinh An village, Yen Nguyen commune (Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province) join hands to clean up village roads and alleys.
“Currently, 13 out of 17 communes in Ham Yen district have been recognized as meeting the standards for new rural areas. Duc Ninh commune has achieved the status of an advanced new rural commune, and Binh Xa commune has achieved the status of a model new rural commune. The district has met 5 out of 9 criteria for a new rural district, and many indicators have been achieved in the remaining 4 criteria. We are striving to complete all 9 criteria for a new rural district by the end of 2024,” Mr. Hoa added.
According to Mr. Sam Van Dai (Binh Xa commune, Ham Yen district), the people's joint efforts with the government in building advanced and model new rural areas are not a big deal. For example, his family always abides by the regulations of their locality, focuses on developing their family economy , actively participates in environmental sanitation work, contributes labor to building the cultural center, constructing rural concrete roads and irrigation canals; maintains hygiene in their living conditions, and contributes to building a new cultural life.
Thanks to the efforts of each individual and family contributing to the overall development of the community and society, the picture of the new rural areas of Tuyen Quang is becoming increasingly vibrant.
In particular, the level of satisfaction among the people regarding the construction of new rural areas is considered an accurate measure of the results of this initiative in Tuyen Quang province. Through gathering opinions to understand the thoughts, aspirations, and suggestions of the people, and to promote their role as masters, the will, aspirations, and participation of the people in supervising the construction of new rural areas are demonstrated.
Accordingly, from 2021 to September 2024, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Tuyen Quang province surveyed people in 31 communes of districts and cities, with the result that 96.86% of those surveyed were satisfied with the results of the New Rural Development program.
