Factories operate at full power throughout the Lunar New Year holiday.

The Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant has maintained 100% of its designed capacity since the afternoon of the 6th day of Tet (February 22nd).

Due to its unique operational characteristics, Long Son Cement Plant maintained continuous production throughout the Tet holiday. On the 4th day of Tet (February 20th), the company launched its annual production launch ceremony, initiating its 2026 production and business plan with the goal of increasing cement and clinker output by approximately 10% compared to the previous year, in line with the requirement to complete ongoing investment projects in the Nghi Son Economic Zone.

By 2025, Long Son Cement Plant will operate stably with 4 production lines, with a total designed capacity of approximately 12 million tons per year; cement and clinker consumption and export volume will reach approximately 11.5 million tons, of which the domestic market accounts for 65% and exports 35%. Clinker exports alone are expected to reach approximately 2 million tons. Along with its production and business efficiency, the enterprise will contribute over 350 billion VND to the budget of Thanh Hoa province.

According to Le Tien Dung, Deputy General Director of Long Son Cement Company, during the Tet holiday, the company organized shift-based on-call teams to ensure the safe operation of all four production lines. Comprehensive equipment maintenance was also proactively implemented to minimize disruption risks and improve operational efficiency. Simultaneously, the company is accelerating the digitalization of operations, optimizing logistics and product consumption, creating room for increased productivity, cost control, and aiming for sustainable growth in 2026. Along with maintaining stable production, the company is also accelerating the progress of port, grinding plant, and supporting infrastructure projects in the Nghi Son Economic Zone, aiming to complete a closed-loop industrial-logistics ecosystem as soon as possible.

From the afternoon of the 6th day of Tet (February 22nd), the Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant maintained operation at 100% of its designed capacity (1,200MW), continuing to provide stable electricity to the national power grid. During the Tet holiday, the plant arranged operating personnel in shifts to ensure system safety and maintain a continuous power supply for production and daily life.

According to Nguyen Huu Manh, Head of Operations at Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant: "During the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse, 170 officials, engineers, and workers were assigned to shifts, maintaining operation at approximately 40% of the designed capacity, ready to increase load as required by the dispatching system. In 2025, the plant will maintain a power generation output of over 7.1 billion kWh, fulfilling the national supply plan, and exceeding the 3 million safe working hours mark, affirming the effectiveness of operational management and labor safety."

According to the 2026 power dispatch plan, given the projected double-digit growth in electricity demand, especially as new industries such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors are gradually brought into operation, the Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant is expected to supply approximately 7.78 billion kWh to the national grid, continuing to play a crucial role in ensuring energy security for the region and the entire country.

At the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, the technological lines continue to operate stably at a high capacity of up to 125% of their design capacity from the very beginning of the new year, fully meeting the committed production targets and contributing to ensuring the supply of petroleum products to the market during the peak period. It is expected that in the first quarter of 2026, the plant will supply approximately 2 million tons of gasoline and diesel products to the market. To ensure safe and continuous operation, the plant has assigned 679 workers to work in shifts, maintaining 24/7 operation.

According to Kazutaka Yamato, General Director of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited, during the Lunar New Year holiday, the plant maintained a full complement of leadership, functional departments, and operational, maintenance, and safety personnel on duty; maintenance service contractors also maintained staff to meet technical requirements. The equipment system for importing crude oil from the sea was thoroughly inspected and maintained to ensure reliability throughout the process of receiving oil tankers, minimizing the risk of operational disruption.

According to a summary by the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thanh Hoa province, during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, nine enterprises in the Nghi Son Economic Zone maintained operations throughout the holiday, with 1,860 workers assigned to shifts to ensure continuous operation of production lines, machinery, and essential services. The workforce is mainly concentrated in heavy industry, energy, and construction materials. Several mechanical engineering, supporting industry, and service enterprises in the economic zone also arranged personnel to work and provide services throughout the holiday to ensure operation, maintenance, security, and logistics for the entire zone.

According to a quick report from the Department of Industry and Trade, in addition to businesses in the cement, ceramic tile, sugar cane, dairy, and electricity sectors that maintained operations throughout the Tet holiday, some businesses with urgent orders and production services also started operating early in the year. From the 7th day of Tet, most businesses in the province officially resumed their production and business activities.

Entering 2026, Thanh Hoa aims for a GRDP growth rate of 11% or higher; of which, industry and construction will grow by over 14%, and export turnover will reach 8.5 billion USD. The maintenance of operational discipline and the early initiation of production and business plans by businesses are expected to create momentum for achieving these targets, contributing to the realization of the province's high growth goals in the pivotal year of 2026.
