On the afternoon of February 13th, amidst the bustling atmosphere of the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), many radiant smiles bloomed on the faces of people in Hoa Hoi, Hoa Hiep, Bau Lam, Dat Do communes and Tan Thanh ward as they received heartfelt gifts from Ho Chi Minh City.

A delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, visited, extended New Year greetings, and presented many meaningful projects and gifts to people in difficult circumstances.

Joining the delegation were Comrade Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union; Comrade Phan Hong An, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, along with local leaders and sponsoring units.

In Tan Thanh ward, 16 solidarity houses were handed over to ethnic minority households facing housing difficulties, with support ranging from 60-80 million VND per house, totaling approximately 1 billion VND, drawn from the Ho Chi Minh City "For the Poor" Fund.

Filled with joy at receiving their new homes before the New Year, many families were moved to know that from now on they would have a spacious and sturdy place to live, allowing them to work and raise their children with peace of mind.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung (Cau Ri neighborhood, Tan Thanh ward) shared: “Having a new house right before the New Year is the greatest joy for my family. We are truly very happy and grateful.”

On this occasion, nearly 200 health insurance cards and almost 400 gifts were also distributed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to disadvantaged people in Hoa Hoi, Hoa Hiep, Bau Lam, and Dat Do communes. Health units also organized health check-ups, consultations, and provided free medicine to local people.

The total cost for the series of activities was over 650 million VND, funded by donations from various organizations.

Holding her new health insurance card in her hand, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong (Thanh Tan hamlet, Dat Do commune) happily said: "Receiving this gift and health insurance card makes me feel so warm inside. Now that I have the card, I'll worry less if I get sick."

Free medical examinations and medication were provided to the people at the program.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc extended New Year greetings to the people, hoping that families would continue to strive for progress and work together to build an increasingly prosperous locality.

The comrade emphasized the spirit of caring for people in difficult circumstances, ensuring that no one is left behind, in line with the consistent direction and guidance of General Secretary To Lam on promoting the strength of national unity, fostering a spirit of mutual support and compassion, and caring for social welfare in a practical and effective way.

In that spirit, social welfare work should not only focus on immediate support but also aim to create conditions for people to stabilize their lives and gradually rise out of poverty sustainably.

He also expressed his sincere gratitude for the joint efforts of businesses, sponsoring organizations, and philanthropists who have accompanied the government in the journey of sharing love, contributing to bringing a warm spring to many families.
