In April, the whole country looked forward to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the Reunification of the Country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Throughout the streets and corners of Phu Tho province, many cafes were brightly decorated with the colors of the Party flag, the national flag, and the Liberation flag in anticipation of this important occasion.
Colorful space at Coffee Alley
As soon as they set foot in the gate of Xom Cafe, Viet Tri city, looking up, many customers were amazed by the space of countless rows of Party flags, red flags with yellow stars fluttering, creating a brilliant and solemn scene. In particular, on each glass of water served to customers, the shop also cleverly pasted the image of the national flag.

Ms. Thuong Thuong, Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district shared: “Last weekend, my family and I went to Xom Cafe and I was very impressed with the space full of flags. As soon as I entered the shop, a very special feeling arose in my heart, that is pride, love for the homeland. Especially as April 30th approaches, being immersed in an atmosphere full of history and national spirit like this, I appreciate more what our ancestors fought and sacrificed to regain independence for the country. That is a sacred milestone for the whole nation.”
While it's still the same familiar drinks, this time, customers visiting Hyotan Tea & Coffee in Viet Tri City will be served beverages shaped like the national flag. The red color of the flag not only evokes heroic memories but also helps the younger generation better understand an important period in the nation's history. Ms. Phung Huong, the owner, shared: “With the desire to celebrate the anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, the shop has received enthusiastic support from many young people. We hope to contribute to spreading patriotism and national pride through every detail of the decorations and activities here. For me personally, patriotism is not a trend, but something that lasts forever. I want to spread that message to everyone.”
At Thanh Son Cafe in Thanh Son town, Thanh Son district, the Party flag and the national flag are also brightly decorated. In the stilt house setting, the harmonious arrangement of colors and light makes the place not only imbued with national spirit and patriotism but also an ideal spot for customers to take photos during this special holiday. Ms. Thu Hien, the owner, said: "The cafe had planned the decorations for the April 30th holiday beforehand, hoping to inspire young people with love for their homeland and not forget the difficult and arduous but also very proud periods of our nation's history. Since the idea became a reality, I'm very happy that the cafe has been strongly welcomed and appreciated by many young people, and even older customers who come to take photos and express their delight at the cafe's vibrant atmosphere."
Villa Cafe in Bai Bang town, Phu Ninh district, is adorned with the vibrant colors of the national flag.
In the decorated space, with drinks and familiar cakes covered in the red flag by the cafe owners, everyone who comes to experience it feels more proud of the country and people of Vietnam. Now, cafes are not simply places to enjoy delicious drinks or meet friends, but have become ideal destinations, special cultural spaces for people to "check in" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. The image of the Party flag, the red flag with the yellow star proudly carries pride, connecting the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people towards the important historical holiday of the nation.
