During the most difficult days following Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi), Bao Yen district in Lao Cai province received immense support, both material and spiritual, from all over the country. Countless trucks and tons of charitable goods have been heading to the North in general and Bao Yen district in particular to share in the irreplaceable losses. Bao Yen Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School, located in a high-lying area in residential group 1, Pho Rang town, Bao Yen district, was not directly affected by Typhoon No. 3. However, four teachers and nearly 500 students were isolated from September 9, 2024, because the road leading to the school, bordering the river, was severely flooded and eroded, making access by boat the only way to reach the school. The lack of electricity and water also hampered the students' education. Thanks to the efforts of the teachers and students, especially the help and relief from benefactors and charitable organizations, the students have overcome hardships. From September 10, 2024 to the present, the school has received hundreds of portions of sticky rice cakes, rice, and many other necessities such as bottled water, bread, instant noodles, etc. The relief supplies from benefactors have helped the students overcome the recent difficult days. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the organizations, individuals, and kind-hearted people who have helped the teachers and students of the school during these most difficult times. We wish you all good health so that you can continue to bring warmth and compassion to the people in the flood-affected areas.
