Although Xiaomi has accelerated the rollout of the HyperOS 3.1 update to 85% of eligible devices, a long list of mid-range and budget models are still waiting.
According to the latest data from the technology website XimiTime , while high-end smartphones have been enjoying the latest features since April, Xiaomi's budget and mid-range segments are showing signs of lagging behind.

HyperOS 3.1 still lags behind mid-range Xiaomi, Poco, and Redmi phones.

Notably, this waiting list includes many devices with a large user base in the Vietnamese market. If you own one of the following devices, you may have to be patient for a few more weeks:
- Redmi series : Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G, Redmi Note 14 4G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, Redmi 14C, Redmi 13, Redmi 13X, Redmi A4, Redmi A3 Pro.
- Tablet models : Redmi Pad 2, Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G, Redmi Pad SE 4G, Poco Pad M1.
- Poco series : Poco M7 4G, Poco M6, Poco C85 4G, Poco C75, Poco C75 5G.
The delay is attributed to errors during internal testing, the need to optimize hardware for mid-range and low-cost chips, and waiting for regional firmware certification.
What does HyperOS 3.1 have to offer Mi Fans?
The reason users are so excited is because HyperOS 3.1 isn't just a typical bug fix; it brings a major overhaul of the interface and user experience, tending to 'learn' heavily from Apple's iOS operating system.
- 'Partnership' with Apple AirPods : A unique feature allows Xiaomi phones to connect to AirPods as smoothly as iPhones, displaying a quick pairing pop-up, enabling/disabling active noise cancellation (ANC), and supporting spatial audio.
- iOS-style multitasking interface : The app management page has recently been redesigned to a modern, smooth vertical scrolling and card-swiping interface.
- Hyper Island Upgrade : The 'adaptive island' feature makes its debut on Xiaomi tablets, offering richer animation effects and more intuitive real-time status tracking.
- Super OTA technology : Optimizes software installation speed, minimizes device restart time, and significantly reduces errors or logo freezes.
The next steps with HyperOS 4
While the mainstream segment is still waiting for HyperOS 3.1, in other news, flagship models like the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Xiaomi 15T Pro have already started participating in the Android 17 Developer Preview program. This will be a stepping stone to the next HyperOS 4 interface, promising a wave of AI features later this year.
