| Delegates visited the exhibition space showcasing publications of the Hue City Journalists Association. |
The first impression that struck me, as well as many of my colleagues, upon arriving at the Press Conference exhibition space was the large banner with the words "Press of 34 provinces and cities after merger" in the central exhibition area. Indeed, the 34 provinces and cities with 87 exhibition booths, though small in number, with their synchronized, modern, and distinctive design, created a vibrant picture, reflecting the strong flow of revolutionary journalism over 101 years of formation and development, while also clearly demonstrating the trend of digital transformation and the application of new technologies in journalism.
The Hue City Journalists Association's booth is located next to the exhibition space of Da Nang City and the Journalists Association branches of the Central and Central Highlands provinces. We are bringing to the festival special issues of newspapers celebrating the Spring of 2026, as well as daily editions of Hue Newspaper, Song Huong Magazine, and publications of the Journalists Association.
Immediately after the opening ceremony of the 2026 Press Festival, crowds flocked to visit the exhibition booths. Many stopped to admire the dominant purple color on the design backdrop, reflecting the identity color of Hue city.
A visitor over 70 years old, holding newspapers that he had probably received as gifts after visiting each booth, said to me: “I really enjoy watching television programs about Hue. Since I discovered the HUE TV YouTube channel, I often watch programs about Hue culture. Hue culture is very diverse, and the Hue accent in each program is very captivating!” Then he stopped at the newspapers we displayed, paying attention to the special Tet issue, praising the beautiful cover and the many articles about Hue culture, and asked for a copy. The reader happily took the newspaper and greeted us. At that moment, I felt an indescribable joy.
The Hue exhibition booth had the honor of welcoming Comrade Trinh Van Quyet , Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, who visited immediately after the opening ceremony. Despite the short time, he took the time to examine the representative publications and acknowledged the efforts of the local journalists in disseminating information, reflecting the socio-economic life, and spreading positive and developing images of Hue city.
It was a busy but enjoyable afternoon for us as the Hue City Journalists Association's exhibition booth welcomed many visitors who not only stopped to look around but also carefully flipped through the pages of the newspapers. During a brief conversation, a visitor working at the Vietnamese embassy in Hungary shared that seven years ago, he had a business trip to Hue and happened to read the Thua Thien Hue Newspaper. He was impressed by the presentation and content of the articles. Before leaving the booth, the visitor asked to take home copies of the Hue Today Newspaper and the Song Huong Magazine. And so, many people came, stopped to admire the exhibits, and hoped to acquire Hue's newspapers, magazines, and publications for themselves.
Concluding the three-day National Press Conference 2026, we packed up our exhibition booth to return to Hue. What made us happy was that all the newspapers we brought to the National Press Conference were well-received by readers who wanted to receive them as gifts. We gave those newspapers away with all our hearts and respect. We had to disappoint many guests because we no longer had the special issue celebrating the Spring of 2026, with its eye-catching and impressive cover, to give as gifts. This is a source of happiness not only for me but also for the journalists of Hue, reflecting the vitality of journalism in the flow of development today.
