Many rumors about Switch 2 appeared at CES 2025 event

The culprit is accessory maker Genki, which not only displayed a supposed replica of the Switch 2, but also claimed to own the real device and revealed the release date.

Nintendo has officially responded to the rapidly spreading rumors. A company representative confirmed to the Japanese newspaper Sankei that the leaked images and videos are 'not official'.

While Nintendo is notoriously secretive, the scale of the leaks has forced them to respond. Images of what are believed to be larger, magnetically-connected Joy-Con Switch 2 controllers have also surfaced online. A reputable tech leaker has even released a detailed 360-degree render, confidently claiming it is the 'most accurate look yet at the Switch 2'.
