On June 30, 2025, the print newspaper I've been with for the past six years will end its mission. I can't help but feel a mix of emotions, a feeling difficult to describe.
Hai Duong Newspaper is where I began my professional journalistic journey, where I put the first punctuation marks in each news item and article. After graduating from the Academy of Journalism and Communication in 2012, my dream was to work at Hai Duong Newspaper, but after graduation, I didn't have the opportunity to work in journalism.
Although I didn't work for a newspaper, my passion for writing led me to regularly contribute articles to a magazine. It wasn't until seven years later that I joined the Hai Duong Newspaper editorial office.

I still remember those early days working at the newsroom, before I was assigned to cover any specific area or sector. As a young reporter, I was still quite inexperienced and clumsy. But it was the enthusiastic colleagues and the bustling yet warm atmosphere that helped me grow in a professional journalistic environment.
I remember a colleague saying, "Contact the Red Cross in Tu Ky district to write an article about a person in need of help." I didn't hesitate, packed my bags, and went straight to Ha Thanh commune, a remote area of Tu Ky district, to meet the person I was writing about. The person I wrote about had a particularly difficult and unfortunate situation. After the interview, I gave her 200,000 dong. Although the amount was small, I felt very happy all the way home. And the article, "Heartbreaking story of Mrs. Gai without money for medical treatment," published in the print edition of Hai Duong Newspaper, was my first article since working at the newspaper.
As a new reporter, I was entrusted with covering the healthcare sector right when the Covid-19 pandemic was raging. I continuously and promptly updated countless news stories about the pandemic. I remember nights I had to skip meals to go out and report on the situation. Or nights when it was already dawn, but I was still out on the streets with my phone lit up while the city was asleep. News poured in hourly; I strained to update every number, every new directive, and every heartwarming story in the heart of the pandemic. Never before had I felt so clearly the mission of a journalist to bring accurate and timely information to the public.

Six years is not a long time, but it's enough for a young reporter like me to feel deeply indebted to the newspaper. The newspaper has been a witness to my growth and development in journalism.
The beloved newspaper is closing its doors to make way for a new chapter.
We didn't enter this new home empty-handed. We brought with us valuable experience, journalistic expertise, resilience in overcoming difficulties, and the faith nurtured by our beloved Hai Duong newspaper.
