One of the key tasks being vigorously implemented is the undergrounding of the power grid system, aiming to build a green, clean, and beautiful city; while simultaneously ensuring the safety of electricity supply and urban aesthetics.
Observations along Bui Thi Xuan Street – one of the densely populated main roads identified as a key project for the 2024-2025 period – show the vigorous involvement of construction units and Da Lat Power Company.

In mid-November 2025, the Da Lat Electricity Management Team mobilized cranes, specialized vehicles, and 15 staff members to coordinate with relevant units to remove electrical cabinets and poles still located within the road's right-of-way and complete the connection of the underground power grid on Bui Thi Xuan Street, Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat.
The renovation and upgrading project for this road is being undertaken by the Da Lat Area Investment and Construction Project Management Board as the investor and Hung Nguyen Co., Ltd. as the contractor. To date, the majority of the construction work has been completed. Many sections of the route have had underground cables put into operation, contributing to ensuring a stable power supply for the area's load.

On the ground, 11 low-voltage power poles located within the road after the expansion need to be removed. The Da Lat Electricity Management Team is currently relocating the poles and coordinating the connection of customer electricity meters to the new underground low-voltage line to ensure uniformity throughout the entire route.
Mr. Tran Duc Dung, Deputy Head of the Da Lat Electricity Management Team, said that the connection relocation work was meticulously prepared by the unit with complete technical plans, temporary power supply plans, and coordination with the construction unit to ensure progress; at the same time, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles in traffic.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tri, Director of Da Lat Power Company, said: "The program to underground the power cable system has actually been implemented since 2003. This is a long-term step, showing the strategic vision of the power industry in protecting the landscape and ensuring urban safety."
Not only focusing on low-voltage power lines, since 2020, Da Lat Power Company has constructed a 4.7km long 22kV underground medium-voltage transmission line, extending from Da Lat 1 substation, starting from Khe Sanh road, passing through Pham Hong Thai, Anh Sang, Nguyen Van Cu to Hoang Van Thu. This line distributes the load, ensuring stable power supply to the central area and surrounding areas such as Van Thanh and Ta Nung.
These projects have laid the foundation for an accelerated phase starting in 2025, when many major roads will begin to be expanded in conjunction with the undergrounding of technical infrastructure.

In 2025 alone, Da Lat Power Company implemented many large-scale projects, demonstrating the industry's determination, such as: the Bui Thi Xuan line, relocating 1,798m of medium-voltage underground cable and constructing 3,675m of new low-voltage underground cable; the Phu Dong Thien Vuong line, relocating 821m of 22kV medium-voltage underground cable and constructing 1,883m of new low-voltage underground cable; and the Hoang Van Thu line, relocating 1,467m of 22kV medium-voltage underground cable, constructing 851m of new 22kV medium-voltage underground cable, and constructing 2,263m of new low-voltage underground cable.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tri, along with the technical efficiency, the undergrounding of power lines in the city center has significantly reduced the risk of accidents during storms or power pole collapses.
The underground cable system operates stably, minimizing damage from weather conditions. Furthermore, removing the tangled bundles of wires that were once a "nightmare" in older urban areas has made Da Lat's streets more spacious, clean, and beautiful, befitting its image as the "city of flowers."
This activity also aims to concretize Lam Dong province's goal of implementing technical infrastructure projects in a synchronized manner; in which the undergrounding of the power system plays a key role, contributing to the goal of building a green, civilized, and modern urban area.

In fact, along Bui Thi Xuan, Phu Dong Thien Vuong, and Hoang Van Thu streets, a clear change is evident, with a more open, clean, and beautiful landscape, creating favorable conditions for residents, tourists, and service businesses.
With a large workload and many important routes being implemented simultaneously, the power sector is still striving to ensure progress, safety, and efficiency. At the same time, close coordination between the power company, construction units, and local authorities is helping the project proceed as planned.
Underground infrastructure projects are not just technical tasks; they also demonstrate Da Lat's determination to build a modern, civilized, and tourism- friendly city.
